Crows 'bugfix'
http://www.filefront.com/15654565/stalker_cop_1602_crowfix.zip
A minor bugfix for bind_crows.script, so that you shouldn't end up with hundreds of them flying around.
Code added to track the crow count correctly (I hope), and to stop the crow count going negative (which is why you end up with so many crows). Will work with existing save games, will not cull crows currently active (just continue playing, the next emission will kill them all).
Tested once on 1.6.02, so not making any promises. It didn't crash after an emission, and I ended up with the correct number of crows, seven (the default). |

I'd love to use it, but I don't know how.
I've been playing SOC for so long I forgot how to apply mods. A little help, please? |

Open the zip file, drag the gamedata folder into your Call of Pripyat folder. Verify that bind_crow.script is in CoP_folder\gamedata\scripts.
Open fsgame.ltx using notepad, locate the line starting with $gamedata$, and change the 'false' on that line to 'true' so it looks something like:
$game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\
Continue playing as normal. Once you have a crow-killing emission (sometimes crows survive an emission), you should end up with the correct number of crows which is seven for the three overland maps. |

Thank you, Sir.
You're the best. |

Noticed this has already been included with a 'mod pack', but to clarify:
I don't count this as a 'mod', it's definitely a bug-fix. If you're making a multiple-file mod and want to include this, please do. The more this fix gets out and about, the better. |

---QUOTATION--- Is there any other download of this bug fix? The Filefront link doesn't have a download on it - file can't be found.
. ---END QUOTATION---
if you already have COP Complete you can copy the gamedata\scripts\bind_crow.script
if you don't then DL here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?36h76rigcttlejv
copy it into gamedata\scripts
EDIT~
it should work just by copying it into the scripts folder. even with a save game, the fix should kick in after an emission. credits to Nazgutek, who wrote the Crowfix |
