Ending (SPOILERS WITHIN)

*** SPOILERS WITHIN ***

STOP READING . .. YOU WERE WARNED.

*****

Okay . .. onward.

I just finished the ending.

From up above on the ruined walkway I shot Strelok until he became weak and then it cut to us all lying half dead in some underground tunnel.

Was this the intended ending, or, like the original STALKER are there other possible endings?

Thanks.

did you not here the Clear Sky leader shouting over the radio that the Final Emission - the one you were trying to stop - the one that could kill all life in the Zone - was about to start

but that is the only ending there is - because the game is a prequel it had to end a certain way

Weak.

I suspect that's the general consensus.

Just as Danlo said, this game is a prequel, so there can only be one outcome.

Oh and you never kill Strelok, you just disable his psy protection

No problem with failing to slay Strelok. I played the other game. Heh.

I just think that if they were going for a tragic ending they could have made it more interesting.

Maybe next time they'll hire a capable writer?

I appreciate all the work and art they put into Clear Sky,but the ending takes the game out of the game and the desire to play it again. Why not have a chance to save Strelok and live? I played SOC over and over again to succeed with more money and better weapons but,I also got a feeling Strelok died even in the BEST ending but I'm not to sure. Tragic endings do not belong in a game but, that's My idea of art and not the writers. This could be a Ukrainian style tragic play that I'm not familiar with as well. I think if we all had a choice Hamlet would live.

Let's just say that when GSC broke up, so did the guys with ideas. Gaming industries require experience, something GSC didn't have at that time.

so how did you ppl manage finish the game? shooting from the walkaway till Strelok's shield was destroyed or pursuing him through the teleports and killing the soldiers that appeared on the way? i was able to do both in my first playthrough (patch 1.508) but the whole chase seemed much buggier the second time i finished the game (patch 1.5.10). after dealing with the militaries on the roofs I got to the final stairway that Strelok was supposed to climb (the one with the teleport that doesn't let you follow him) and he was nowhere to be seen. I explored the area looking for a way to backtrack when I fell from a walkaway to the ground. and there he was just standing in front of the NPP building. i was able to talk to him, trade him some vodka and then I started shooting at him till it triggered the endgame. he was so polite he wouldn't shoot back at me, hehe

I just shot from the walk way. On my first try I got killed by something or someone, then I tried the pursuit, but Monolith were too roothless and the third time I just shot from the walkway. So I beat the game, by just shooting from the walkway. Your ending sounded interesting.

Woah, that IS a stupid way to end.. lying in a cellar, watching some tv-sitcom and no muscle function to switch off the tv.. seems worse then death. BUT: how did they all end up there ? This is in no way satisfying.
"The zone was expected to calm down!" is the last thing you hear from Lebedev.. But the Zone did not calm down, instead collected you all and threw you and your buddies in a cellar with 50 TVs ??!
Do not know if I am supposed to laugh or cry... either way, such a stupid ending combined with the hillarious difficulty and several crashes to desktop in the later stages of the game.. Nah, can´t say I am running to get C.O.P. right away after THIS...

I´ll wait until there are some fine mods out...

The Monolithians brought all of those who survived the emission to that cellar with the televisions. They were obviously being brainwashed.

Lebedev was correct, the Zone did calm down. Of course the Zone had to repel everyone who was in the center first. Notice in Shadow of Chernobyl there are only two emissions (one in Yantar, and one when you reach the center of the Zone which should have been expected by some stalkers, the Ecologists, and the Military). There are no space anomalies anywhere to be found. It is much more stable.

Oh, okay, I see you dug deeper inside the game to get something like this out of it. For me, ClearSky was just a mediocre gaming-experience, FAR from the fun I had with SoC.
