Clear Sky - Things not used that could have been

The level is there but they moved the Loading Point all the way to the south.
It's just like the longest unused Road that would have been really cool in SoC
south of the Loading point in Rostok. Going from Garbage to Rostok advances you
all the way past this big unused section that would have been great for Mutant attack.

Limansk - The Cellar

(Red house near the center)

Seems a lot of unnecessary work unless this might be used in the future, was left in but not used or is an easter egg...

Having to push or blow the boxes out of the way, down the cobwebbed stairs, force another door open, through the pillared room to here :

Note the doorway and the recessed sliding door and the bent pipe in the doorway. It's as if someone threw that down to stop the door closing. Nice touches but so far of no value or part in the story at all

View through the opening :

Tejas - you're right about there being so much that could have been - it happens with every game I expect - not enough time to do it all before the publishers demand a "finished" product.

I believe this was the reason that SoC was delayed because they didn't have time to finsh everything and wanted to put out the game they wanted - this time the publisheres wheren't quite as understanding or so it seems

keep the post up mate I enjoy reading them -you have definately improved my game

that looks like an early teleport pad - definately an abandoned (or finished) experiment - maybe its in the sequel

Holy shit, that's awesome! Definitely a cut out part! Maybe it will be expalined in a sequel... hopefully. By the way, the secret valley from Garbage to Rostok for mutant attacks would be very cool. Would require more effort to reach it and levels would connect alot better.

This gets better and better! First: secret valley - I have to admit I haven't noticed it, although I was at that spot, since I rarely look over the fence since I can't go there anyway :/
Now - secret laboratory with equipment and all, wow!

This makes me think that STALKER III is in development already. We can at last hope

As for levels and level changers and all.. I WISH for a completely open Zone. All current levels from both SoC and CS, plus those missing levels (cities and buildings) that you can see on global map but were never made, and all those free roaming uninhibited spaces in the area "between" current levels. Those should all be LEVELS, and all connected. No fixed-place level changers either. Just a big border around all levels, and whenever you get to the border you get level changer YES/NO dialog. And when it loads you're just 1 meter away, and can still see the old level behind you.

I have made a map while typing this. There are 3 new levels, all current levels are expanded a little, and few of them are expanded A LOT.

Blue borders would be new leevl borders, and note - you can walk all the way to the blue line, and imagine every blue line to be a big level changer towards the other zone which it borders with.
Red line is a "Zone end" line. If you go there, game will ask you something like "Would you like to go Home and leave the Zone?" which would save the game and exit You're home! Some parts of the "Red line" would be ofcourse inaccessible, either because of the river in the east (deep deadly waters), or the mountains (in the south and east), or by the stuff like blown up bridge (outside Pripyat) fences, lakes, smaller rivers etc (see the map). So you'd have very limited areas to go to to "exit Zone".

What do you guys think? Would be nice, wouldn't it

Oh, btw, there is this one part of the map showing some town. I think it wasn't in neither SoC or CS. Is that Rostok or something? Anyway, could be a nice little new town level

hehe, lets add a swimming feature and take a dip in the cooling pond, and I find it funny that GSC moved Pripyat south of the NPP but you can still see Pripyat just to the west of the NPP

Yeah, if they tied it all together, the next game could be epic indeed. Good map, there Lux, xcept I'd go even far deeper into the North to have some more levels there. The real zone extends all the way to Belarus, and so should this one (at least a little bit). And where on earth is that secret Monolith base/city? Gotta see that one next game!

How about the Northern exit to the Army Warehouses? There are Monolith stationed there and a road, but as we all know, there's that stupid psy field that you can't even get near, much less past. Feels like one of the many radiation fields in SoC that were put up specifically to keep you off the edges of the map. But if there's nothing out there, why station Monolith soldiers there?
