Mod compatibility with SOC

Apologies if this is a daft question but...

Are there any major changes with the structure of CS that would prevent installation of SOC mods. Obviously the total conversions and other significant mods won't work, but what about 'stand alone' sleeping bag mods, torch mods etc etc? Can they just be moded into the game data folder as per SOC???

Thanks in advance for any pointers

As you say it would depend on what it was but looking through the configs that would be changed for simple mods a hell of a lot of it is virtually identical.

That's good news at least. I want to see roaming AI patrols from nearby areas. The occasioanal starving blind dog thrust into a nearby camp. A small patrol escorting a prisoner from a rival faction back to their base where you can rescue them and then lead them back to safety. Any of this possible via scripting? I used to play X3, the space game, a lot and it was amazing what was possible through scripts with that.

I doubt you could just drag and drop mods from SOC to CS without having to rebuild something t the new files but i may be wrong.

you cannot just drag and drop gamedata files from one to the other. I already tried to replace some weapon sounds and nothing happened. It does not crash your game but it simply does not work.

I just don't understand why the developers of this game keep making such weak weapon sounds. Some of the guns and riffles sound like a toy gun...lol. It kills the immersion imo.

Does anyone know of any good clear sky weapon sound mod out there? It really kills the game for me to have to play with these crappy weapon sound effects.

The reason your sounds didnt work is becuase you didnt change the weapon ltx files to read the new sounds or you didnt set the gamedata folder to take priority.

also from what i've seen you to add other things (custom guns, etc) there are at least 2 files other than the specific weapon config. so i'd go through and check if there are any other files that link them to game.

I could be wrong but to get my custom gun (altered abakan) working i had to alter at least 2 other files (not including upgrade file and techie file)
