Well that has nothing to do with this mod, you must have some other mod that conflicts with mine thats causes the CTD.

The bloodsucker.ltx file doesn't even have a Line : 787, it only goes to Line : 781.

Is there a way to add a mutant part for the psuedogiant as well? That would be kind of awesome.

Ok, here are my mods:

No crosshair mod
No loading disk mod
Pistol ironsights mod
Freedom Mechanic fix
Monster Hunter
NPC Night Detection and Collision mod in m_stalker.ltx as suggested by Natace.

That's it. Any suggestions? It only crashes when m_bloodsucker.ltx is there. Using v1.5.04. It just CTD again

Hmm, mine was crashing as well, but deleting the m_bloodsucker stopped it... The crash wouldn't turn up a bug report, though, it'd just crash out with a blank log file. =/

As i wrote before...it is impossible that the error can be made by the bloodsucker.ltx file when it is the line [error]Line : 787 that causes the CTD, the bloodsucker.ltx only includes 781 lines.

So i rely don't have a clue why you get those CTD's, the only thing i can suggest is to not use the bloodsucker.ltx if that helps as you say.

Ceano dun take this as a personal attack or anything. As a programmer u should reconsider ur position. As a fellow programmer myself I tell myself never to make statements like "it's impossible it's my code that is causing crashes" and try to view the problem in its entirety.

While u could be factually right that it is impossible that m_bloodsucker.ltx is causing the crash, what's also factually right (from my perspective at least) is that your change in m_bloodsucker.ltx is causing the crash. It could even be a combination of m_bloodsucker.ltx with monster_items.ltx or even both plus some script file in the resources, who knows... I certainly don't.

Following my latest crash I did 2 things:

First, I just went and copied out the original m_bloodsucker.ltx from the resources, and replaced ur file with it, with a small change to a minor stat. No crash.

Second, I removed ALL mods leaving ur m_bloodsucker.ltx and just that alone in gamedata, even removing ur other mutant files. That means, just patch 1.5.04 and gamedata/configs/creatures/m_bloodsucker.ltx. Guess what? Consistently repeatable crash at the same spot.

That means either patch 1.5.04 is broken or m_bloodsucker.ltx is broken or 1.5.04+m_bloodsucker.ltx add to broken. Remove m_bloodsucker.ltx or replace it with the original one? No crash.

What does that tell u? If u need I can send u the BugTraq zips which come with xray log, error log and the savegame. I'll put it in my webspace for u to download if u request it.

On a personal note, being in the software line, such an occurrence or bug report from even a test case will result in more testing in all related code files, even if it seems "impossible", mostly from the indignation of the programmers involved, which is sometimes understandable.

But like u said, I'll just stick to not using m_bloodsucker.ltx since so far boars, snorks and dogs seem ok. Cheers!

PS, I'm no expert on BugTraq, but is it possible the error refers to line 787 in xrDebugNew.cpp, instead of m_bloodsucker.ltx? Seems like function invalid_parameter_handler inside xrDebugNew.cpp is crashing at line 787. Something like:

[xrDebugNew.cpp]
7xx: void function invalid_parameter_handler () {
7xy: some code...
7xz: some code...
7aa: some code...
787: some code here causes crash.

Just a guess from my days of Java programming (yay), is it possible that another script is trying to get direct access to line 787, but is causing an error because it doesn't exist? I've never seen this problem with S.T.A.L.K.E.R yet, but I've had problems with other games that expect to have a specific number of lines in each file.

Other than that, keep up the good work.

I went and downloaded WinDiff and compared the original and the new one.

The new one had 3 new lines at the end:

[bloodsucker_marsh]:bloodsucker_weak
$spawn        	= "monsters\bloodsuckers\bloodsucker_marsh"
visual        	= monsters\krovosos\krovosos_green

The other changes were on a value called Rank and general immunity changes. I dun think that's the problem. Can't remove that block to test too, cuz the save expects it and loadgame crashes if it's missing.

Oh well, no bloodsucker jaws for me!
