Editing artifact birth rates

As i understand it with srp 1.01 which includes pavlovs fix so artifacts actually respawn artifacts will now respawn every 40 hours, however the chance of an item spawning is very low (10-20 percent depending on the field) i dont want to start a new game and am happy waiting 40 hours for a spawn if i actually stand a good chance of getting artifacts but so far i gone 8 (game) days with no new artifacts, what do i need to change to increase the chance of an artifact spawning, i have found a folder in my unpacked files called zones under configs which looks to have 28 files in it regarding anomolies, if i alter the value of birth probability to 0.9 does that mean i have a 90% chance of an artifact spawning? would 1 equal 100%? on another note i seem to remember that in my first play of the game (unpatched) i would be asked for ammo or medkits in all areas of the zone and not just the swamps yet in patch 1.5.10 this only seems to happen in the swamps what has been changed?

Correct, in the artifact configs 1 = 100% probability.

With regards to the repeating "bring item" missions, they were only ever available in the Swamps and possibly Cordon, if my memory serves. The non-repeatable squad missions (eg bring unique item / pda etc) are available in all areas, but you have to complete all of them as they run in sequence, so if you didn't do all the ones offered in the Swamps you won't be offered any in Cordon etc.

Time to test it out, set them all the 1.0 (where they are set to give an artifact anyway) and also set artefact_spawn_probability following an emmision to 1.0, kept the number of artifacts standard will see how it works out, yes bring item missions i definately had them in cordon before but i was sure other areas perhaps not, for some reason no longer get them in cordon or at least i havent on the previous 3 plays

No new artifacts yet, i was wondering about the cause of sticky artifacts which appear on my veles but cannot be seen or picked up, could this be because in the zone files the anomoly has the minimum artifacts set at 1 rather than 0? i left minimum and maximum alone and only changed birth rates but i may alter this and see if it makes a difference in being able to pick these up

Just dont understand it, its been 3 game days and not a single artifact has respawned in the swamps, cordon, dark valley, garbage, agroprom or yantar (i cleared the red forest and millitary warehouses recently so wouldnt expect new artifacts), im running srp 1.01 which should have pavlovs fix for the timer, have i missed something the files i edited to increase the birth probability where the ones under configs\zones and i only edited the ones which where set to give an artifact, changed the birth rates to 1.0, same for anything set to give an artifact after an emmision, set the minimum number of artifacts to zero on all (some where 0 others where 1) still have a stuck artifact which my detector sees yet i cannot and cannot collect in the burner north of the machine yard in the swamps but i dont see why that should do anything, pretty mift as the only reason i started a new game was to sort the artifact spawn issue or lack of and it seems no better other than an initial respawn once in the swamps
