replacing pistol with any weapon

Hmm.... What about creating duplicate weapons? Like, copy/paste, say, a SPAS and make the copy for the pistol slot and name it appropriately? Awkward, but it would allow you to choose whichever weapon you want to be in the pistol slot by using the pistol slot copy.... There'd be a regular spas, as well as the pistol slot spas present in the game (maybe only at the traders, or make one of them only sell pistol slot duplicates. Maybe the hermit?)

Only problem is CS has a weapon cap on the number of weapons it can have ingame, apparently according to smrtphoneusr. And you will need some way of differentiating the pistol slot weapons and normal slot weapons. Either way, its a fair bit of work.
Now, if the inventory weapon slots were set up so you could have 1 pistol slot, and 2 primary weapon slots like CoP, that would be good.

The thing about smrters inventory, is that it looks squashed. It would look better with the artifact slots below the weapon and armor slots, like in CoP.

IMO just being able to have shotguns in slot 1 would be a massive bonus. I actually want this feature quite badly now you've brought it up again, maybe I'll have a go at porting it when I get the time.

actually that is exactly what i did, there were 2 version of every weapon available, one for the left and one for the right slot. This doesn't affect the weapons capacity of the game cause you can make a derivative of the original weapon in the same config file, same as the uniques in the vanilla game.
Remember there are only coordinates for 4:3 resolution, i never made it for widescreen, you'll have to figure those out yourself.

hate to bump old threads but need some help on this


managed to get the w_val in pistol slots and got the right coordinates in actor_menu_16.xml for widescreen.

the problem i have now which i cannot seem to find a fix for is when i have the val drawn and then i select the detector, the position of the val shifts over and covers the detector and sits behind the gun barrel. how do i fix this?

I think the devices.ltx is what you use to change the co-ords with guns like this. I'm not sure though.

Btw, what hud mod?

Its the way the engine is set up. If slot 2 is active, the detector can be used, IIRC.

using Clock In Hud v1.1 and Minimalists HUD v1.1 slightly modified to include the armor bar, wanted it to include the stamina bar but i couldnt figure it out how to get it on the right side of the ammo readout and never finished it.

yea i realize that, that is what i want but i cannot see the detector when the gun barrel is in the way, how do i adjust it on widescreen so the gun stays on the right side of the screen and the detector stays on the left similar to how pistols are positioned when the detector and pistol are drawn same time.

I believe it has to do with the fact that your hand moves, and therefore so does the weapon. not sure though.
