Real weap names

Does someone know of a mod which gives weapons real life names, like AK-47 or M4 Carbine? I hate the fact the weapons have made up names.

None of the rifles are an M4 or an AK47. Those are just idenification numbers that identify the configuration of the rifle part wise. Neither of those rifles are designated as an M4 or Ak-47. One is from the Ak-74 series and the other is from the AR-15 series, I forget the model number as well as the the disgnation number they gave it.

Do they really need their assembly numbers? One is a Kalishnikov and the other is a Stoner/Colt (SR/AR). Being that Stoner designed it the system and both Stoner & Colt have continued to improve it over time. So whether it's a stoner ot Colt would depend on who's factory it comes out of. Now Everybody makes Ar-15 rifles (including M16 & M4) so the model number not series not type is on the reciever witht he Manufacturers name.

You know it by type, not series nor model. The AR-15 in the game is not type M4. It's a different model as well as type, but it's still an AR-15 series. It all comes down to the assembly of AR-15 parts. If you give a series number that just tells me you'll take anything from the series. If you say you want an M4 type assembly that means you want and M4 build. But if you give the model number I that tells exactly what kind of M4 you want, every part excluding pins, springs and screws.

In short that's not not an M4, it's within another type. AR-15 is generic simply because it encopasses the entire series. So generic is better than identifying it as the wrong type. Who really cares what type it really is? An AR-15 is an AR-15. Just like a Kalishnikov is a kalishnikov.

All that talk and nothing actually said. Are you a politician?

(And FYI the AR in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a ZM Weapons LR-300ML, designed by Alan Zitta.)
