^ But that IS what's been happening. Without fail.
Anyways, I did the hard disk and RAM error scans, and no errors were found. I'll update after playing with the static lighting. |

I've not crashed yet, but I am starting to experience problems. Enhanced Full Dynamic Lighting Directx 10 is starting to cause REALLY bad stuttering. I'm at the Cordon right now, but I was experiencing the constant freezing whilst in the swamp before moving to the Cordon.
Up until now, the game was playing beautifully with Enhanced Full Dynamic Lighting Directx 9, with things like the sun rays and SSAO on high with full antialiasing and maximum settings everywhere else.
Question, what is the actual difference between Directx9 and Directx 10 Enhanced Dynamic lighting? Maybe I'm too distracted by the stuttering, but I see little difference between the two. |

...aaaannnnddddd it froze again. Whilst I was playing with the advanced settings to make it less stuttery, I discovered something called Antialias A-tested objects in the settings which is apparently a Directx 10.1 setting?
I switched that off and the stuttering reduced significantly enough that my game stopped acting like a VHS tape going through slow motion. I had just finished beating back a Renegade squad into submission and figured now would be a good time as any to collect the added up 4800 rubles back at Clear Sky Base.
Happy that the stuttering stopped, I dashed for the guide to quick travel and SCREECH! Froze solid. Sigh.
In your guys' opinion, would I lose much simply playing on max settings for Directx 9? |

Sun rays too.
You can go to LOW without losing a lot. |
