I find CS pretty unique.
Cs actually can be lonely, just visit the swamps after you are done with main quest there, everything is empty only occasional mutants roam around., while Clear Sky members are occupying villages and ruins.

As far as Stalkers/Loners goes i think they should've act like in SoC but for the sake of story it had to be like that, most things did act like they did so they fit the story in some way.

Mutants in CS behave like squads which i didn't really like. And Red Forrest was mutant den for sure, many mutant spawned there and map was dangerous, not many human enemies only mutants.

Im not much of a artifact hunter so i can't say anything on their values.
As far as anomalies goes i like them in CS and SOC they were all over the place, spread out, unlike in COP where they were in 1 place and everything felt too safe, you could sprint through zone safely.

I agree with population being too high, but they were limited to certain territories, see Red Forest and Swamps after finishing main quests there, areas become desolate and dangerous.
Garbage felt like a battlefield and cordon too safe as did Dark Valley.

I just liked bandits in SoC, no story, just plain and simple Bad Guys

Faction Wars could be done better, without player having to do silly stuff to get things going.

Can't remember more now but all in all i like CS as it is

SoC provides 3 entries in the PDA for events that take place before 2012.
These are the basis for the setting and action taking place in Clear Sky.
Since Clear Sky is a prequel to SoC, you should not expect it to be an
extension of what was found in 2012. SoC is a direct result of the
aftermath of the Faction Wars taking place in 2011. Whereas
over 1,000 Stalkers went to battle for dominance in the
Zone, SoC features the shattered remnants and the
few survivors from their former glory the year
before. Clear Sky was always meant to
be a different experience than SoC.

Also...

The game's major themes kind of come from Klondike... not Roadside Picnic
