Clear Sky Time For Change v2.0 MOD by Aleks (aleksn09)

Anyone else seen this big CS mod yet? I have it installed and it appears to be pretty stable. It adds a lot of stuff! Levels included are Bar, Generators, Darkscape and a couple more. All have quests and are filled with NPC's, wildlife, anomalies, etc... The story branches off to include these levels and new NPC's.

Google translated misc. readme:

Added weapon : WA2000, RG -6 special , M79 special , Marauder1010, mine , FS2000, FN FAL, thermobaric grenade .
Posted edged weapon : Hunting knife , dirk knife with a dragon , Army bayonet M9 Buck MB, Combat Knife " Shaitan " , a throwing knife .
Added locations : Cache black digger ( Author : Pihan13), the generator.
NPC intelligence was better:

Added two kinds of hiking Kit: for armor and weapons.

Might be, have to look at the mod first. Hopefully it isn't, given the trouble I had first time round resolving it. I might just be overreacting since a lot of the changelog currently matches my own mod, or what I aim to implement.

Currently at work, so I'll have to look at it later.

Short version is, got an email from someone here about some Russian modder who was using the Christmas demo release of my last mod, added some stuff to it, and was claiming it as his own.
Got in contact with the site admins, pointed them to my one over at ModDB, and they pulled the ripoff version.
A day later, the modder gets in contact with me, asking why the hell I'm claiming his work as my own, and is making arrangements with the admins to get his mod restored, and mine pulled from ModDB.
Took a few days, multiple screenshots of file properties, and the site admins reviewing both our mods, but they finally agreed that mine was the original, despite all the mud flinging (he claimed I hacked into his computer, deleted/changed a bunch of files so he couldn't prove his case, but couldn't provide any proof of this) and legal threats by this other guy (which never materialized)
It was all done via email, so I don't think there is a complete mention of it here, just parts of it,

Anyway, I've derailed this thread enough. I'll stop here for now.

Torrent download is fast but you need to register to get the link. Yandex is slow .... unless you have joined this I guess.

I have retail English version 1.5.01 of CS which needed to be patched up to 1.5.10 for this mod.

Note that there are different patches depending on whether you have the DVD or digital download version.

When you have patched to 1.5.10 the mod is a straight overlay -adding gamedata, new bin files and localised user file (with adjusted fsgame.ltx).

@david.m.e, I have translated the text\rus folder using Stalkerstein's V4.2 helper ... and keeping these files in the rus folder. There is no localization.ltx file per se. The game seems to run fine but in the dialogue there is a mix of standard English and code terms such as (roughly) "csk_join_faction_4" etc. which if you choose then brings up "csk_join_faction_44" etc. I cannot find (so far) which files need to be translated to get the proper text for these. It is not in gameplay I think.

Note that CS has a large db file called xenglish.db in a localization folder. The Russian version would have a xrussian.db.

Maybe you have an answer for this.

I've just come here while dialoghelper does the folder, I noticed some of the new dialog was in Russian so that means some is also somewhere in gameplay presumably.

Theres a lot of files in the text/rus folder, they will need there new text merged into there english counterparts so that the vanilla text isn't all gobbledegook, there's a lot of them so there's a lot of work before even thinking about a rewrite but I'm gonna start doing them, just incase you do, I'll start from the end of the folder and work backwards.

Let me know though.

David, You were right. If you have the English version of CS (ie with xenglish.db in the localization folder) the \text\rus folder needs to be renamed to \text\eng.

The dialoguehelper (V4.2) works with most files but fails with files like st_item_weapon.xml. I think this has to do with the "%c \n [255,255, " etc. stuff. I will check through and try to get it working tomorrow and post the "translation" if it seems ok.

Looks like it could be a good game. I haven't played a Clear Sky mod
