@ Rm4g3dD0v ~

Most of those are C stack overflow errors, which are most likely related to the blowout script - Smoq hashopefully fixed that one and a patch is imminent. There's two other errors there, one of them is a renderer error so it might be worth running driver-sweeper and re-installing your video drivers, the other one is a Windows error (183) which I'll have to look into.

@ Smoq ~

The texture fix I uploaded is just a re-archive of the ones you uploaded - I suspect the issue is being caused in the un-packing process, so I used .zip format instead of .rar, if this works then I'd suggest re-archiving the whole thing using 7-Zip instead of Winrar.

Actually, C stack overflows are caused when the same function in a script is exectued two times in one script loop. This is due to crappy multithreading support for CS, and since Rm4 here has a quad core, the occurence is much more frequent then on dual core processors. It's just not something that can be fixed. My suggestion is to turn of two cores while playing. I know that this probably did not happen this frequently on vanilla, but then again, vanilla didn't have half of the content we have now to calculate. The last CTD you posted with the visual error in an NPC is indeed a blowout error, which I managed to fix. The method for checking if an enemy is present was run twice in the blowout AI scheme, hence the error.

@ RoboMook - K, thanks. I'm changing all csky beta skins to DXT5 as a precaution anyway, cause two users reporting the same problem on the same meshes raise my doubts if theese were actually CRC erros.

@ matekfpol - Any CRC errors during unpacking will cause problems, you can be 100% sure of that. Try to unpack the files on a different computer, then somehow copy the unpacked content onto yours. And defragment your drive at some point. Btw, it's you who misses me and a couple of other ppl, not stalker.pl

Yeah, they do happen in vanilla sometimes, although it's my understanding that stack overflows happen due to infinitely recurring functions, which can be caused by a script. Natvac demonstrated an example here: https://www.gsc-game.com/index.php?t=community&s=forums&s_game_type=xr&thm_page=35&thm_id=17505&sec_id=16&page=4

Probably quite hard to trace though, since the error log is pretty useless in these instances.

@ Diablow ~

You requested toned-down HUD breath effects, how about these: http://www.mediafire.com/?xjfgx1dcatjck23

Just replace the relevant files in gamedata\textures\hud

Oh, so thats why I keep getting C Stack Overflow errors before.. Will have to test the 2-core thing out after a couple of weeks. (Once I get my PC fixed with new parts)

Bandit Hostility Bug

I'm playing TFW 2.5 as a Loner and I went to an anomaly field where there are bunch of Electro and Psy anomaly, (In vanilla you can save a loner from Concentration camp and he'll give you a stash in there with Hydroshock rounds and upgraded Colt) I picked up a sparkler and a Stone blood and the bandits turned hostile to me, do you know a fix or what the problem is?

Edit: Never mind, apparently every time I walk out from Depot, I become hostile with bandits for apparent reason.
Scratch that it's not simply walking out of Depot, I think after I slept in Depot and then walked out I had a problem.

Update 2: Just did more through checking, I walked towards the Electro n Psy anomaly field in Garbage and I think I was at the Irradiated Pipe where there's a gravitation anomaly and Bandits became hostile

go to taskmanager and select proprietaries from the xrengine.exe then remove all the checkboxes and leave 2 cores.Or you can use easy toolz which has a affinity list which assigns the desired cores to the exes each time.

CS doesnt profit of more then 2 cores but I wouldnt miss my other 4 cores ^^.

I'm not the best at reporting crashes but eh this one was weird. I think it has to do with that c stack overflow... I do have a quad core. But this happened literally twice in a row. Anyways this was the log. I hope you can fix it somehow Lol.

FATAL ERROR

[error]Expression : fatal error
[error]Function : CScriptEngine::lua_error
[error]File : E:\priquel\sources\engine\xrServerEntities\script_engine.cpp
[error]Line : 180
[error]Description : <no expression>
[error]Arguments : LUA error: ...\common\stalker clear sky\gamedata\scripts\_g.script:697: C stack overflow

stack trace:

Never had this happen that much in 2.0. Either way I hope this helps somehow.

same here in all TFW versions. The bandits become hostile no matter what. It happens as soon as the "outpost past concentration camp" is captured by bandit faction, when it's time to move to capture Cordon.

As smoq once said it happens if your xrengine.exe is cracked. I use the "BATTERY-TEAM" one (hate to admit it on official forums, but here in greece the cheapest copy of CS I found, costs €36 plus €7 for postage ).

edit: HA! just checked again and there's an offer at €9+€5. Hope it doesnt end soon!!!

I use process explorer (task manager fracking sucks ex-junkie-now-zombie ass). However i did so with "set affinity" command and tried with 2 or even 1 core. However, using 1 core is a bit more stable but slower than death.
I play on high detail settings with full dynamic lighting (not enhanced).

My cpu is an AMD 6950@2.3Ghz (no o/c), I have 3.2GB (actually 4) ram ddr2/800 with good timings (it's GEIL), and my vga is an MSI GF9600GT-512mb. I use 32bit winxp sp3 (a four year old fracked up installation; I plan to move to w7 ultimate 64 once I have the monies for an OCZ Vertex or Agility SSD). Should I try lower detail and lighting?
