Black Textures

Looks like missing textures - you say this only happens in DX10 mode? You might be running out of memory, is there anything in your log that might indicate that (or in the console in-game)?

1st off, mod looks really good...Great job guys.
I have had a few CTDs so far, but that's to be expected. Anyways...
I'm getting the same problems as Daze...I Only seen this with a few Clear Sky skins so far. I went over the .thm texture reference's and they seem to be pointing to the correct Bumps.

RoboMook, I don't think this one is Texture memory related. I have a GTX 480 1.5g...and still a surplus of texture memory left.

If you get any CTD's then post the eroor log here so we can fix 'em. Your log should be located at c:\users\public\public documents\stalker-STCS\logs\xray_username.log or steamapps\appdata\logs\xray_username.log if you have it on Steam. Usually only the last handful of lines are required, you'll normally see a section at the end marked "fatal error", post just that part and a few lines above it.

As for the texture issue, I'm at a loss at the moment but I'll keep looking into it. In the meantime it might be helpful to see some close-up screenshots of the affected meshes so I can try and work out exactly which ones are causing this problem.

The other errors I'll leave to our lord and master Smoq2 as that's script-related stuff that I don't understand

@ RoboMook - Can you chceck those skins? Perhaps the lightmaps are did wrong. Something like the yellow freedom seva issue we had before maybe?

Guess that answers anyone who wished to know if the blowout issue is fixed. :/

I really don't know what to do about it. I had 2 blowouts in my game so far, and everthing was fine. What's the eastern base btw? Factory lobby?
Did it CTD again after you reloaded the game?

ok I've started playing this mod and i have one word for it
AWESOME!!!
It is seriously an amazing mod. Smog, Robo and all of the team who worked on this, you guys are my heros.

I've started playing as the mercs, teamed up with my buddy Oblek or whatever his name is and we are in the process of taking Duty's base at Ag Institute.

I'm playing on Veteren. Wasnt sure whether its meant to be played on on the normal difficulty or the very hard one, so i chose the one in the middle of the two , but please enlighten me as to what the intended difficulty is.

I will continue playing this in depth. There is about a 15 second or so freeze when i join a faction. Is that normal (it could just be my dying Dell). I also CTD'd after getting the message about going to the garbage or something and dying at the same time (maybe my comp just overloaded. again, dying Dell haha)

The Radio is so awesome and i really like how i can freely exchange things with my companion (and that i am responsible for his ammo and medkits etc).

The xp system is interesting. However i don't think i have been playing for long enough to actually get anywhere with it yet haha

Is there any plans for adding the Military as a faction the player can join?

I'll post again after playing a lot more but from what i have played so far. It's just amazing.

Faction war was my favourite part of Clear Sky and i hated that they took it out of COP because it just made the game feel so empty and lonely haha

Thank you for all the hard work team
I will enjoy this a lot before my Uni course starts!

Yeah the factory lobby where the you fight off the mercs in vanilla.yeah reloading the save then saving a lil bit later but still a few secs before the blowout wave and reloading it fixed it.

btw:how to turn off the breathing effects ?? didnt find any dinamic hud script file.

Try looking at the corner for a bit and waiting for him to walk off, otherwise try shooting him. If not then just reload an earlier save...

YEAH! I got a save that had a repeatable CTD during a blowout and I think I managed to fix it. The problem was with NPC getting distracted by enemies or some smartcover action while the functions that "conclude" the whole blowout process kicked in. That's why it happend at the blowout end. I'll switch monsters offline just in case during blowouts.

@ mattthekingreborn - Thanks, glad you enjoy it.
Veteran should be rather hard. In TFW player gets a bit more damage from bullets. Bullet resistance was reduced by:

10% for Novice (90% resistance for vanilla, TFW = 80%)
20% for Stalker (80% resistance for vanilla, TFW = 60%)
20% for Veteran (60% resistance for vanilla, (TFW = 40%)
20% for Master (40% resistance for vanilla, TFW = 20%)

Basically this means, that it takes two pistol shots to kill a player without armor on master. About 6 or 7 pistol shots on novice. This was done in order to level out the fact that armors with upgrades are a bit more protective of the user now and enemy NPC resistance was greatly reduced as well. We thought that vanilla settings, which basically forced the player to empty a clip into a medium armored target in order to put it down, was a bit unrealistic, but in order to fix that we had to tune down both sides.

The pause you get when joining a faction is caused by various scripts that prepare the evironment("the Zone" you might say) for a player with new status. The length of the pause depends on your CPU, but it's normal procedure.

There are no plans for the military faction.

Yeah, I'm sorry too that there was no "faction action" in CoP, but I don't blame GSC for it either. They blew it with faction wars in CS so hard, that players would hang them by the balls if they even announced it again in CoP, so they had to mark the idea as "never even think of it". Many players show much hate when I even mention faction wars, saying that we've seen the feature in CS, not even concidering that it could be rewritten from scratch and work right.

Oh, and I'll change the "move over" position for trading loners at the Freedom base.
