Needs a fix now

After a while of playing the screen will go black and all i'll have is my cursor and it will change as if its going over words and buttons. I have to ctrl,alt,del. tog et out of it then use that to close the game cause the game both crashed but didn't crash. it did this to me twice after a while of playing. both completely different circumstances. first one i was a loner and walking around with Ant. second one I had only just joined duty after helping them take over yantar and had Ant and Anatol as companions.. only similarity was that Ant was with me on both times.

Is Mystery mod v. 1.0 compatible with the latest version...?

Hello!

Looking forward to trying out this fantastic sounding mod tonight.

Does anyone know if ver. 1.0 (textures and sound effects only) of the Mystery mod will work this, without any conflicts?

Ver. 2.0 alters more than the textures and sound effects, and supplies adjusted weapon stats. I'm sure that ver. 2.0 would conflict with The Faction War mod, so I'm not even considering using it.

Also, if you know of any other Clear Sky mod that works well with TFW mod, please let me know, and give me your opinion if these other mods are good enough to be combined with TFW.

I played the mod and I have to say that it's great except for some stack overflow crashes and other minor crashes (like quickload). Also I have some questions:
1. Why can't I get a dialog from the hacker for the second time ? I had more then 20 PDA's this time but no dialog.
2. I read that I can get flash drives for unlocking some areas, paths ... I went to the Depot and no one was selling any flash drives. Do I have to join the Loners to get it ?
3. I played with Defiance and I got the Commander skill and I found the new recruit in SW corner of Depot, but I didn't get dialog to join my squad.

hey guys,

a few days ago i've started playing TFW and i really like it. this mod is one of the best mods i've ever played, but, unfortunately i have to report a bug (i know, this thread is nearly ancient, but i just want to go on with my faction war^^)
i chose clear sky as my faction and already secured some bases. but then, i wanted to clear the scientist's base in yantar. after a while the loadscreen closed and the game crashed. later i tried the other entrance to yantar and it crashed too.
i don't think that the install is/was corrupt, because i've already been there, in yantar, as a loner, means in no faction and it didn't crash.
is there any chance to repair that or do i need to re-install everything?

Still mate, I really hope you resolve the issue!

I got around these stuff by my lone wolf/sniper playstyle, but it does seems like a pretty annoying and gameplay changing bug. I wish you fix it!
I already gave my personal suggestions!

I love your mod. It is one of the BEST gameplay mods out there. So logical and well done, so... beautiful.
It is a great thing you created!

@ Decane - I don't get it... dest_smrt_id should change each time a squad reaches a waypoint. I have no idea why it doesn't it your build and how come everything else works without this var being updated.

It's probably something wrong with vanilla scripts. I remember something odd happening with the smart allocation when saving/loading a game - a squad is assigned a wrong smart ID when a game is loaded:

When you load a game, vanilla scripts assign the next squad's waypoint as their current smart terrain (only if the squad is in movement state). It tells the system that the squad has already reached the next waypoint, even if the NPCs are not "physically" there.

Maybe that's the culprit? Then again, I had fixed a ton of vanilla bugs through out the years in TFW and may simply not remember the symptom that you have.

That said, there is something definitely wrong if your dest_smrt_id is not updated and you may start backtracking from that value. I'm 100% sure that it should update each time a squad is passing through a waypoint - as intended in the design since vanilla implementation is broken.

@ Charcharo - If you are asking about how refined the new AI is (or rather will be form your point of view), I can say I'm happy with all the aspects apart from aiming, shooting or visibility callbacks.

The problem arises when both NPCs end up at opposite sides of a thin wall, 2m from each other. They just freeze there shooting at each other because their vision check returns that they can see one another.

@ SlayerOfShadow - Corrupt install maybe?

have you tried the MEGA Stalker Folder?
Just open up the Clear Sky section and you'll find the folder for TFW stuff in it:
