I'd love it if you guys make it that if you help the Bandit faction capture the Flea Market, they won't rob you anymore in checkpoints. (Near the level changers)

Hi guys,
well apparently fileqube is making problems, so here is a new link for SRP 0.7.1:

(copy the whole line manually then paste to your browser if the forum isn't displaying the link properly)

http://www.fileden.com/getfile.php?file_path=http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/5/27/2457709/SRP v0.7.1 BETA.zip

For those of you who ask for more features: unfortunately, i am not a coder/scripter. i dont have the skills to add the features you ask to the SRP. however, if anyone here does have the knowledge and skills to do it, he is welcomed.

I've been dabbling a bit with the weapon files and noticed some values in the weapon upgrades that just can't be right. Some examples:

SVU:
Upgrade values are copy-pasted from the SVD. The commented values after the upgrades are not from the SVU. For example:
fire_dispersion_base = -0.05 ;0.15
But the SVU has a dispersion of 0.25, not 0.15. Also, the SVU has a weight reduction upgrade (as per description) which does not reduce weight. As i said, it's just a copy-paste from the SVD.

Groza:
Upgrade section d AND c have rpm = -200. This is a mistake, i think. And the entire accuracy upgrade path has been disabled (1.5.09). I read posts about a sniping groza, so this must have happened with a patch.

G36:
The commented cam_dispersion values are too low (0.1), G36 has cam_dispersion 0.2. As a result, the reduction upgrades are only half of what they should be.

LR300:
[up_sect_g_lr300]
cost = 2500
value = +15
control_inertion_factor = -0.5
inv_weight = -0.3

This results in a control_inertion_factor of 0.7, which is way too low. It should not be lower than an upgraded AK74U (1.0).

L85, G36 and FN2000:
The scope zoom modifications are not persistent. After another upgrade or loading a save they revert to the original zoom factor. I came up with a workaround (after some reading in the forums I discovered FourAces had the same idea), but it only works for the L85 and the G36. When used with the FN2000 i get a CTD.
The workaround is to add extra 4x and 1.6x scopes. The upgrade then reads:

[up_sect_h_l85]
cost = 2000
value = "x4"
scope_status = 2
scope_name = wpn_addon_scope_susat_4x
scope_x = 60
scope_y = -2
;scope_zoom_factor = -15 ;30

...which lets you mount a 4x scope to the L85 which is persistent.

Well, what are your thoughts? The thing is, these aren't straight foreward obvious "fixes". The values in the upgrade files are up to debate. They look wrong (some more, some less), but it is unknown what the developers really intended. In the case of the SVU for example, all values are missing because the ones used are copy-pasted from the SVD.
In any case, changing the upgrades modifies weapon balance, so I want your opinion whether this is something you want in the SRP.

Noticed another bug:

For both exo armors, the tier 3 armor upgrade (ac2) does nothing. Upgrade (a) upgrades the armor to actor_heavy_armor_2. (ac2) upgrades to actor_armor_exo, which when you look it up in damages.ltx is the same as actor_heavy_armor_2 (actor_damage_8).

How to fix?:
Well, the damages.ltx list two more actor armor classes that are not used in game (actor_armor_exo_1, actor_armor_exo_2). It was probably inteded for the exo, then changed because deemed too good. One possible fix would be to give upgrade (ac2) actor_armor_exo_1, which has a BP value of 75 (next higher armor class).
The description for upgrade (ac2) says it restores health. So another option would be to just make the upgrade (ac2) do that. As restore rate, i'd suggest the same amount as a soul artefact.

Just to clarify, i can program thoses fixes. I'm just waiting for your input saying whether you want this stuff in the SRP, or someone saying "plz send me the files".

I have no problem with those fixes being incorporated. If others object to direct inclusion, perhaps you can make them available as an optional extra fix?

Well, if Marked_2 is busy, I can package a new version of SRP with your fixes, DerHeiligeApfel. Please incorporate the fixes into the files already present in the mod, and then send them to my e-mail. I will then amend the readme and release a new version.

Also, I would request that you play-test the fixes in case you haven't already done so -- I will naturally do the same, but it's always good to have more than one person do it. You know, just in case.

Thanks for your input!

EDIT: Also, in case any non-SRP files are necessary to be edited, please make sure you are operating on 1.5.08 game files, DerHeiligeApfel. We shall consider 1.5.09 to be an intermediate patch due to the issues it causes for people.

Hi guys,

First, i'd like to thank DerHeiligeApfel for the suggested fixes and effort. good job mate!

So as you probably noticed, i've been pretty off lately, as my internet connection has become problematic, and work is eating up almost all of my time.
So, if you have new additions to the SRP, don't let me stop you
Decane, i trust you can handle these things and keep it up to date. so from now on you are free to coordinate and edit the pack as you see fit. i'm not pulling off here, i just give the project to the community, as it should be.

The issues with 1.5.09 demand that the pack remains 1.5.08 imo.
Maybe we can incorporate verified fixes from 09 files into the SRP?

BTW, Fileqube links work again.. use the link in my sig.

Mike.

Hey Marked_2,

Good to see that you're still with us! I saw DerHeiligeApfel's post some time ago, but I figured I would let you respond to it. When he posted back almost two weeks later, I thought that you were no longer here, so I figured I would keep the project going. Good to hear you're not gone!

I would also like to thank you for allowing me to edit the project -- though community-powered, you are the one that put a start to this, and hence I feel you should be credited as the mod's author and therefore have the final word about its contents. In the future, if any more fixes are found, I will allow for sufficient time to pass before taking action. For now though, I've got SRP 0.7.2 on hand, and I'm currently waiting for the fixes detailed by DerHeiligeApfel. I have also incorporated one minor icon fix in 0.7.2 -- the RPG-7 icon which I recolored to coincide with its CS skin. Apparently, the skin is not the same as in SHOC, and yet GSC used the same old, dark icon for it (probably due to laziness / time-restraints).

Anyway, good to have you here!
