No it doesn't. Wait till you see Germans rise up and start WW3. I can sense it, it's gonna happen! Run!
I've been using Trend Micro for years now - really solid AV software, never had a single issue . . .
but, it can be aggressive at times - it'll block a download if it feels there's a potential threat, which can get annoying . . . and it likes to scan everything if HDD writing/reading start going through the roof
I've always turned it off for gaming - but online gaming I'll leave the TM firewall up and shut down the software itself . . . never had any issues.
I use Norton Internet Security, even heavier. Never had any problems in terms of conflicts between the security software and games. I dunno how framerate I will gain if I switch it off, but everything runs fine, so I'm not bothered.

Ok, maybe it did screw up your system, but there could be various reasons. Just saying it's a very light and powerful software, not like those Norton, NOD, Kaspersky AV's that require supercomputers to run fluently.
Yeah...I noticed that too. I'm surprised Clear Sky even got mentioned.

They didn't even mention the AV I use. I have been using a free
AV Program for several years that comes from Germany called
Avira Antivir. One time when I tried AVG is totally screwed up
two seperate Computers and corrupted a Game I was playing.
As I read the quote, I thought "yeah, so what?" But, after reading the article, let me be the first to hang my ignorance out the window. I'm amazed. Not about the good performance of products with game-tailored AV modes, but that Kaspersky upon which I've relied for years had almost no negative effect when running. Interesting. I use KIS not KAV so in my case there may be a difference, but I've always automatically assumed that AV killed performance.
