Adding cool things...

Okay... my 3 cents...(inflation, ya know? heh).

First, I agree there should be a "prone" position. And you should be able to crawl while prone.

I also agree the "Sneak Crouch" element doesn't seem to work well...
...And while you are looking at that one.. how about a Prototype Suit that provides some type of "sneak camouflage" maybe similar to the famous "Predator Camo" (the movies). This Suit would be it's own side mission...and not easy to find...and there would be a limited number of them scattered in the game...say 2 or 3...and extremely valuable. Each area where the Suits are thought to be would be "The Wild West"...no neutrals or friendlies....everyone wants the suit for themselves...especially the military. This prototype suit would have been being developed in some labs and test ranges inside the Zone for the Soviet military...and so they are rather hot to retrieve them..as well as any research done by the scientists who built them...More missions here?.
And you would need to husband the Suit's energy because it will burn through it's power cell quickly when running constantly. Would need a power meter on the HUD..or in the PDA.....and you would need to find power cells from time to time...
Maybe it only works for a short time...say 2 minutes or whatever...then needs to turn itself off to keep from burning out components.

Perhaps another element...after you get one of these suits..some individual Stalkers, Dutyers and/or Freedom... may decide to kill you on sight so they can get the suit for themselves. Killing them could have bad consequences..unless you do it in a way that doesn't bring their buddies down on your head.

Another way to do this might be not with Suits..but Blood Suckers. Maybe when you kill one...you can loot him for the "glands" or whatever that give the Sucker the ability to camo invisibly... Using them yourself would be a one-time thing per "gland"... and each "gland" would only last a brief time before being drained.

Since that tired old "when are we going to get ropes we can climb?"..has turned up in about every game forum since Quake II... let's try a different approach.
The most obvious..would be to make some of the 4" drain pipes or conduits running up the walls of building inside and out..climable.

And how about maybe a grappler? It's a short, chunky thing similar to a tear gas gun, which uses a CO2 cartridge that could shoot a small grapple or anchor a certain distance..then right mouse button the small winch on the grappler rifle, which winds up the rope and you ascend. These are real-life, by the way. Get to the top, and release or double-click the right mouse button to release the rope and cartridge.
Each grapple-rope could come in a pre-loaded cartridge and would be a one-time use thingie... so, you would need refill cartridges...Again, these are not too easy to come by...but can be bought or traded for or found here and there...so you need to pick your spots to use them...and their weight would be another factor. They are heavy.

I'd kinda like to see some Rogue Spetznaz in the game. Maybe a few small 3-man teams ...in the Zone to get rich...maybe trustworthy at times..maybe not. By rogue, I also mean they add unpredictability..in that you would never know when or where they could show up...and if they would be allies or enemies.

We would need to hide our stashes or caches "off the beaten path", so to speak...leaving them around where they are visible means someone else can and will loot them.

More than one entrance/exit into/out of Maps... multiple entrances/exits per map adds to the stratagy and gameplay elements...and these don't all have to be easy to get to or use...some of them could be very worthwhile to use to portal into the next map...but for various reason..hard to reach and hard to find...and a few of them would be one-way...no backtracking. You have to use a different entrance/exit to leave the Map...although you could enter the previous map again through the one-way portal.

Well..maybe more 3 cents later.

Fix the fact that at times, enemies can shoot you right through walls or cover...no matter what they are made of... AP/BP rounds are one thing...but there are times when it seems the enemy can shoot right through anything. They also seem to have X-ray vision at times.

I don't think we need a "camo" style suit, but I like the idea of using the bloodsucker glands or something.
I always wanted to use the body parts for something other than quests and sale to traders, like putting them in your belt slot.
Dog tails might make you smell like the blind dogs or P-dogs, and make the blind dogs avoid or run away from you. Boar hooves might be able to be used like anti-rad syringes, but make you dizzy or something. Can't think of any use for snork feet or zombie hands aside from selling them (maybe keep animals away?).

Yeah, I wondered at the limited Search and Use...you would think using mutant body parts would be a no-brainer, since they are already a part of the game.. but aren't of any use, except to possibly sell.
As far as the Camo suit goes..and this is also directed to the other Poster who replied about it...as well as you.. Well, I see downsides as well as updides to having such a Suit in the game.. but I still think a suit along those lines could be used to add more to Stalker...especially the military angle..
I believe I mentioned Spetznaz... rogue ones.. how about regular, loyal Spetznaz who have come in to also recover the Suits and the connected research materials? I was simply thinking out loud about how to add more gameplay and missions..,more complexity to Stalker. I mean, I think Stalker is very different, and very good, despite some bugs and problems that are normal in a game's "growing pains" stage...and I do see a lot of potential to make Stalker an even larger, more complex game..
You do know what Spteznaz are, right? Soviet-era Special Ops...that still operate today in the Russian military.
Trust me one this... they are damn good at what they do.
Anyway.. it was just a thought...this is a good part of the Forums...some guys come up with great ideas..amd I hope the Devs read these Forums...

there needed to be more hard to kill monsters, although i did have a horrible incident when i went back to streloks stash, the underground was absolutlely crawling with bloodsuckers, about 15 i counted, all chasing me,never shit it so much, had the volume well high and was proper stoned hehe.

I like your ideas though, the bloodsucker gland ones great, anmd the camo suits, hmmmmm.need to be serious balancing with that, like you can only use the camo for a certain amount of time, say 30 secs or whatever, then it takes time to recharge,or you have to buy/find very expensive battery cells to power the cloak unit.

i really was dissapointed there was no weapon repair kits, and all the weapons are not customizeable in single player like they should be.

The blood sucker glands would most certainly have a very short life when activated, since they are no longer running on the blood sucker's "body batteries"... Maybe a way could be devised to kill a blood sucker....and extract a certain amount of blood sucker material from the corpse.... that would add a few seconds to the gland's life... I'd make it able to add 4 or 5 seconds max....and the maximum a blood sucker gland could work would be the 30 second thingie.... if the gland was 100%...if it was showing, say, 75% green...then obviously, it wouldn't work as long... How about that idea?

Yeah I covered the Timer thingie and the buy or find power cells... I thought it should be 2 minutes for the Camo suit before it shuts itself off to keep from burning up components...
2 minutes is a long time inside a game, you think, but see how fast you can blow through 2 minutes under the right circumstances.
Yeah..as I said before...there would need to be some downside to using one... maybe slowing you down unless you use Full Power...in which case, the power cells would run out more quickly... 2 minutes can a very long time inside a game...circumstances again.... but could give you enough time to cover a dangerous patch of open ground with snipers or other enemies watching the area... Or to ambush a superior force..say a 12 man patrol you have to get through to continue the mission..
If you are very careful, the suit could get you close enough without alerting them..to use a grenade..then an automatic rifle.. It would still be a tough fight with the survivors, unless you get grenade-lucky... but still fun... ya think?
And simply because you have that suit...it doesn't mean you can't be SEEN under the right conditions.
Remember the Predator Movies? You could see the Predator under the right lighting...or if water hit the suit..or an electrical discharge discharge hit you...or bullets in just the right spot.
So those elements are certainly in Stalker..it rains..and you have electrical anomolies...that can discharge at you... so there is another downside to the suit..
Imagine sneaking up on 12 military or Dutyers... and it suddenly starts raining before you are ready to hit them? Or an electrical anomoly forms behind you suddenly? Or you forget to check that power level timer..and the suit suddenly shuts off...heh heh...ooopps!
See..there are lots and lots of possibilities here... that was my point..
I'm sure guys could come up with a ton of other ideas... especially Suit-needed missions...

More later

may be the camo suit will not work if you run or go down faster the more you move so if you stay still it run's of low power mode i.e. like normle camo but bit's act chameleon and change camo to suit i.e. if you are 50% in a tree that bit is green camo but the 50% next to a wall is city camo but the phant on the wall is see to be there just a bit off colour and fuzzy.
the better modle can work form a battrey power by a flash or a moonlight for best reslt
