Enemies failing to use grenandes

I noticed that with all the nuances of the enemy AI, I have never had any enemy try to flush me out with a grenade, which is strange considering they routinely drop them when killed and looted. I wonder why this is and think that the game would be much better if the enemies actually used these things. Ive been getting nailed by grenades from enemies in shooter games for years and I guess I expected the same from STALKER, especially when the game obviously cannot just pretend that the grenandes dont exist in the environment. I mean, Im finding them on bodies of guys I killed and thinking to myself, "man, this dude would have been a challenge if he tried to use these two frags on me while I was behind that cover."

Yep, really stupid part of the AI. Don't think there is much we can do about it with out an SDK.

i agree 100%. makes no sense at all. it allows the player to just sit in a corridor, doorway, etc, and wait for the ai so file in one by one to keep killed. kind of negates the entire "great ai" concept.

for any follow ups to STALKER, the devs MUST PUT THIS FEATURE IN!

Ive been cornered a bunch of times and thought, "if this were a different game, a grenade would have landed next to me 5 minutes ago. Oh well, I guess Ill keep waiting for heads to appear in the same spot around this doorway."

The items in a npc's inventory infact is decoration. The amunition they use is infinite and not related to what is in their gun or inventory. This is why you will also never see them changing to secondary weapons despite many carrying pistols.

you do see them change. go up to an enemy sniper and get right up close. . . he will change weapons to a pistol for close range combat.

I saw a script for grenade throwing. I don't know if it relates to npcs, though...
the sniper thing probably works because they have sniper set as their job type.
 
Each word should be at least 3 characters long.
