Some stashes have the artefact merger device.
Once you open the merger (double click on the inventory, or right click + use), you will see your recipes in the back left corner.
Select one, and you will see what it needs: monster parts, various low level artefacts, etc...
Make sure to have those elements in your inventory. If you don't => go stalking 
Use recipe
Wait
After a while, you will have a new item in your inventory: the required artefact if the merge worked fine, or a blue (or green) parasite if it failed.
Make sure to do a hard save before merging, if you don't want to waste valuables items in case of merging failure!! |

Okey, okey. Then I get it. I saw that he had one in his inventory now, but then I had to go back to bar and fetch some monster parts to sell so I could get some money, but then he hadn't the box in his inventory anymore, so I have to wait. :/

There is a small technique, do a hard save in front of the professor, and then load it... he may have a different inventory  |
