Nobody doing the translations (I think anyway) actually speaks Russian. We just feed the text into google and take whatever comes out. For AMK NS a few people went back and provided better text after missions were done and we knew what to do.

I've translated some of the dynamic news messages from the mod. It's not all of it but it's a good chunk of it.

Ok.Maybe we miss some of the russian humor in the dialog but at least its better then nottin

HUD and Losing Health

Hey Guys,

Pseudostomp What a great find! Thank you.

iloveSHOC and rangda Thanks for the translations.

This feels like an entirely new and different game. I'm back (with the Forester) from the first mission in the Dead City, and my health is on a steady downward spiral. I ate all my food and slept 8 hours, but health continues to deteriorate.

The HUD shows my heartbeat, but I don't think I'm bleeding or irradiated. Anyone got any ideas? Also, do you guys know what the timer is next to the docimeter display?

Loads a saved game in less than 10 seconds--quite a difference from NS.

news translation 0.2

New version of the news translation. This is a pretty important update; anyone playing this mod should download it.

Found a bunch of miscellaneous news messages (for things like new path) and added them to the translation. Also found a file with a ton of plot related news messages and translated those. Some of the translations are straight googlish as I have no context for the messages so I could not translate them into decent English.

Fileplanet takes a few hours to validate files before you can download so it will be a bit before the file can be downloaded.

Radiation works differently in this mod. Radiation is a number from 0-600 that goes up (very fast) when you are unprotected (or insufficiently protected) in radioactive areas. If the counter hits 600 you die instantly but high values make you lose physical and mental health nonstop until you lower it or die.

Radiation exposure doesn't go down at all w/o taking an antirad or equipping -rad artifacts. The 'timer' isn't a timer, it's your long radiation count. One antirad will drop that number by 25 or so, and to give you an idea a -5 rad artifact drops it by .01 a bit more than once a second; i.e. with it over 400 you're screwed. I'd recommend you load an earlier save. Also note that using antirad costs health.

That radioactive area with all of the artifacts in by the forrester's cabin can get you from 0-100 in less than a second. You have to be VERY careful of radioactive areas in this mod, and keep PLENTY of antirad with you.

Sarcophagus transition

SPOILER ALERT..........











Anyone know where the transition to the sarcophagus is? When Charon gives the mission to clean out the control room of critters he says where it is but the translation is very badly garbled and it didn't make much sense. I wandered around for a bit but haven't found it yet.

NVM I found it. For those that flail like me it's outside in chernobyl 2 and once you're there it's obvious.

Dwarf Tossing, Cyrillic Text & .OGF files.

Rangda, Like it or not, the mod has a cure for the broken economy. I'm becoming adept at using a knife on the snorks, and staying out of trouble.

Then I lost count of how many Dwarves were killed. Turned out that the live dwarves were tossing the dead dwarves at me.

Had a chance to play this a little more. So far so good. Can't figure out why my guy woke at 12:20 am, while trying to sleep until morning. There was not a blowout then. After playing some dark mods, this one seems almost too bright at night, so I just went back to work.

There is probably allot of vanilla English stalker text, and maybe some already translated text (AMK etc.), that could replace most of the machine translation.

Read that non-Russian players will have a problem sometime with cyrillic text. Some texture paths may have cyrillic characters, and the path to the texture may be in the .ogf file. So this time we might have to rename some folders, texture files, and also edit .ogf files.
 
Each word should be at least 3 characters long.
