Is there any reason why i would have huge lag in this mod i played most large mods incuding AMK NS with no problems but this is beyond not playable i try'd in static light mod and its just the same.

EDIT. forget my last question i had my old graphics card connected and not my newer one lol.

But can someone tell me if the perfected suit for nimble is in the tunnel or is it somewere else cause everytime i tryto access tunnel i get shot of hunters.

I agree the potential is high. I also agree from reading the web site that the mod author is very possessive of the mod and does not want anyone changing it.

I did a quick diff of the mp5 & ak47 weapon files between AMK NS & NLC6 and the files are identical. NS does not have these ballistics issues so apparently it's being done in script which will make it a lot harder to track down.

And those EXE's are doing something funky. I tried to increase the player carry weight and the game consistently crashes on startup. So he's apparently doing something to validate the data in at least some of the files.

I found the script that controls grenades, xrs_grenade.script, I can parse LUA OK but I'm not proficient enough in stalker modding to easily figure out what is going on.

EDIT: I'm a pinhead, I forgot to roll back my NLC 1.0004 install so I was comparing NLC to NLC. Comparing the mp5 between AMK NS and NLC again one value really stands out

NLC: fire_dispersion_base = 0.5
AMK NS: fire_dispersion_base = 0.18

Googling that value is the base error amount of weapon fire specified in degrees (which is further modified by movement & stand/crouch/low crouch. That's a base error of +/- .5 degrees, which seems like a ton. I'll try setting this to 0.18 and playing out a few fights and see how it works.

EDIT2: SUCCESS!!! Changing this plus changing the effectors for sway (which were equally high compared to AMK NS) gives much more reasonable results.

I'll grab a copy of Arsenal or SmP 2.4 and try to make some reasonable weapon ballistics based on those.

How time flies, eh?

Anyway, this mod looks really great. And thanks for everyone translating it and stuff.

I can't see the point in making it uncheatable though, I mean, if people want to then let them, right? It is not like its an MMO where cheating matters.

I knew something was up and I knew the grenades were tracking the PC, but I didn't pin down the ballistics problem until I was in garbage. I ran into the hanger for the fight just after the bandits tossed grenades and killed every stalker. A bandit was right in front of me 8m away (had distance tracking turned on). I had the crosshairs right on him, aimed, and then watched an entire MP5 clip dance around him w/o hitting him once. But all the bullets were within the area inside the crosshairs that I had just seen. Reloaded crouched to get the smaller crosshair, aimed again, and sure enough got the random scatter within the smaller crosshair.

I don't know if you can enable/disable the effect of aiming/scopes within the weapon files or if this is controlled within some other ltx or a script. But it totally breaks the game.

I read the entire thread in the NLC forum and there are many complaints about the ballistics in the mod which the author currently dismisses saying "it's not trying to be realistic" (I'm not sure what it's trying to be). But in posts right before that with people complaining about the carry weights his argument about those is that it's not realistic to be able to carry more weight. Apparently he has a very strange vision about what a shooter game should be like.

If the mod were done I might mess with trying to use arsenal versions of the weapon/ammo ltx files to fix ballistics but it's just not worth it with something that is a partially done preview.

Again it's too bad as I a lot of what I see here better than AMK NS (currently the best mod an English speaker can play IMO).

Ive managed to grab that piece. Very cool. I strongly recommend to use the torrent to get the file, everything else is much to slow (got it in 30 minutes instead of 1 day!).

And for all people in here which are german, but never visit german stalker mod sites (as me) there is an german translation which is quite good but currently undone. Nevertheless its translated by Wlad77 the same guy which had done the AMK translations (for german AMK). He´s good in it and the text is much better as googlish!
check amk-zone.de for all infos about that and the dl link for the german translations.

The NPC's however, do not have this problem as bandits @novice have no problem whatsoever hitting me consistently with PK's @100M.

And NPC grenades land at the player's feet 100% of the time. I actually watched one follow me around a corner on the minimap.

It's too bad as there are some really nice ideas in this mod for structuring the content, but the author's concept of combat is totally broken.

Your latest translation has the script file that has to be changed in it, so my 'mod' would conflict with yours.

You need to edit sak_dialog.script and find this function:

All the stuff between the --HACK and --END HACK is what I added to spawn the items into inventory.

Reading the AMK forum for the mod this mission works like the Kostya cache missions in AMK NS. There are a bunch of different places it can spawn and the mod picks one at random. The mission text from sid gives you clues as to where to look (at least it should, for at least one of them the translation appears to have mangled it).

So if you don't want to run all over Cordon /w just a knife use the above change.
