physical customizationo

being able to customize your stalker's features would be awesome, cool if you could be women

I'm really surprised at how many people seem to object playing as a woman; personally I don't mind. I like to try on all sorts of skins. No-One Lives Forever 1 and 2 were really fun games, but I have read that many gamers turned them down because you play as a woman -- their loss, I suppose.

Personally, I don't care with what I play, either man or woman. But this game is not the same like every other game. The Stalker has 40kg of equipment or whatever on his back, protective suits, masks... and he's running around in The Zone. Now try to imagine a woman in the place of that Stalker. Maybe strange to say, but it wouldn't be a sight at all. A female Stalker just doesn't fit in this game.

Our gymnastics teacher in school is a female, and she could carry quite much.

I don't think it's so much, could a gal do it as would a gal. I think it is even more unlikely that a gal would have the desire to go out and seek riches finding obscure objects in a radiated zone where 99.9% of the population are less-than-honorable guys. Just not a gal thing. And it may not be allowed by some stalker code.

Therefore I would definitly side with GSC in not putting them in. It's more work they have to do for something that just doesn't fit. Not saying their aren't females that would and could, just highly unlikely.

Now what they could do is add a few models for SP and MP afterward if the desire of people to play a female is high enough. I personally don't know if females themselves feel strongly enough about it. I've said somewhere I know 3 fairly hard-core game gals. One is pretty much Doom/quake dependant the others dabble some in FPS but mainly like RPG's. They care about the game not your character, however they do play games that all have female characters. I don't think they will be playing Stalker with us.

On a side note, I think we have one female gamer who visits this forum. They seem to take FPS more seriously than guys do. Like the hardcore Quake gal...DO NOT talk to her when she's playing. And the other two if we ever get them to join in an Ureal LAN game, they get honestly mad when they lose...any one else notice this?

Maybe a secret reason I don't want gals attracted to this game is they are scary behind a gun. No mercy.

Didn't we already do the whole 'Women Stalker' debate?

Who cares if women aren't allowed on the front lines, this ain't a war game.

Yeah, I think they'd be more in a war game than this one.

Really? Crikey, I'm the opposite (as in I'd expect female Stalkers before female soldiers).

Ah, the diversity of the human mind.

As for the topic, I recon there will maybe be around 10 different stalker models to choose from i.e. not much in the way of customisation.
