Monster's Love

*This is just an introduction to the character Monster. You might see him in a mod I'll be posting in a couple months.*

***

Monster couldn't help but admire the sunset. The dreamy contrast of the purple sky against the orange clouds left him stunned. How many times had he watched that sun, he wondered. Soon it would be night, and the zone would come awake.

He was sitting on a hill, outside a village North-West of Rostok. There were few STALKERs out there, and he had time to think. The wind blew on his face, and he welcomed it. For too long he has had a rebreather apparatus strapped to his face. The feeling made his skin tingle.

Something stirred to his left. Whipping up the Czech Agram 2000 that was always at his side, he aimed at a nearby knot of trees. A STALKER in a reinforced eco-suit stepped out into view. Monster lowered the Agram and went back to sky-gazing. The STALKER walked up and sat next to him, taking off the opaque aquarium-like helmet. He looked over at the STALKER next to him. She had shoulder chin length hair that was pulled back to fit into the helmet. He smiled.

"Hey Anzhela." Monster spoke.

The woman chuckled as she responded. "Your not easy to find, you know. I had to bribe Barkeep just to et some vague idea of where you were. You should get a radio or something!" She slugged him on the shoulder. "I was about to give up when I heard that blasted contraption you're always carrying around with you. Why do you carry that anyways? That thing weighs probably close to 20 kilos!"

Monster patted the Gepard M3 lying next to his pack. "Do you know of anything else that will drop a giant in one shot?"

She grimaced. "No."

"Then you know why I carry it." He sighed and retrieved a cigarrette from his pack. He lit it and took a couple puffs, then handed it to Anzhela. She took it gladly and took a drag. "What's so important that you had to track me down?"

She extracted an artifact from her pack and held it up. "This." She rotated it in her hand for a second and passed it to Monster. "It seems to act well as a painkiller. I found it in Pripyat. I was carrying it back to the guys at Freedom when I ran into a bear. The damn thing messed up my exo and almost killed me. Luckily Grace saved my ass." She stroked the meticiously cleaned Zastava M76 rifle.
"After that encounter, I realized that I didn't feel a thing. So I decided that you might want to study it. I went back to the Freedom base to recover, then came looking for you."

Monster poked at the artifact. "It might affect the nerve endings in the skin. Or it might trigger the brain to release more painkillers when the endings are triggered." He smiled as he tucked it into his pack. "Thanks."

"Hey, before I go back to the Bar, can I see some of the drawings you've done lately?" She slung an arm over his shoulder.

Monster unstrapped a worn leather binder from his pack and opened it. He passed several papers covered in ink and pencil drawings. They depicted beasts and surreal landscapes, all drawn in a very messy, sketchy style. The top one was a drawing of the sunset he was watching.
As Anzhela rumaged through the drawings, Monster leaned back. "If you need to find me, I've set up a home in an abandoned farm about ten minutes east of here. You can find me there most of the time, and if I'm not there, wait. I'll be there in a while."

He gestured that she hand him her PDA. When she did, he marked it on the map.

She handed him back the drawings and started gathering her pack and rifle. "I'll remember that." She was gone as fast as she appeared.

Monster sat back up. He smiled at the now high moon. "Angel." He muttered. He gathered his pack and rifles, and left for his farm to study the artifact.

Yep. I'm tired. It's 5:32 am right now. I'll post some actual action in the near future. I just wanted to introduce the two main characters in my stories. Oh and I want to say that I'm looking for someone who does 3d work for the mod I am working on. I'm alright at scripting, but animation and building is not my forte. Thanks all for reading!

That'll do it, I've heard. Don't worry, though. Nobody seems to care too much if there's not more every HOUR.

Don't sweat it.
