Just joking guys. I am working on this. I just have work every day, so its hard to write when your brain is fried from working 40+ hours in a restaraunt. Brain Scorcher? Wait, you mean the Olive Garden!

This is a crappy excuse if there ever was one! You will immediately post the next part of the story or else...

---END QUOTATION---

no, seriously. I've got work in half-an-hour. no excuse. I'd be writing right now if I had the time. I'm sorry, but you guys'll just have to wait until sometime past midnight. If you look, you can see that 95% of my posts are around 3:00 in the morning.

First off, his girlfriend as nothing to do with Monster's Love. Think more abstract, man!

Second off, I posted that bit there to make you wonder, not to bring it closer to the title. It honestly has NOTHING to do with the title.

Third off, I'm busy typing. Don't distract me. Hey look! A distraction!

***

When he woke up, the bear was still standing over him.

"You my friend, are very lucky." Two-Tongue said in English. Monster was startled when he spoke without a Russian accent.

"What the f-"

"You know why they call me Two-Tongue?" He was smiling at Monster. He proceeded to open his mouth and stick out his tongue. There was scar where his tongue had been split perfectly down the middle. "It was still split for years after, but the radiation in the zone has caused scar tissue to build up between the two halves.

"You have no accent?" Monster was sttll stunned by the man's perfect English.

"No. I was born in Volgagrad, but when I was ten, my parentts emigrated to the States. I picked up the language very fast, and without an accent. That's another reason I'm called Two-Tongue." He gingerly patted Monster on the shoulder, careful not to hit the bandages around his ribs.

"How?" was all Monster managed to grunt.

"You shot that wolf, remember? I heard it from half a kilometre away." He grunted as he pulled Monster's pack from the floor and set it on a table next to the bed. "No-one's been in there. I made sure of that. Why is it so damn heavy?"

"Thanks." Monster tried to sit up, but his broken ribs reminded him that any effort would cause excruciating pain.

"You'll be out of service for at least two months. But you'll live. I brought you to the Freedoom base. They seem to like you." He chickled as he ran his fingers through his messy brown hair. "You must have had an angel on your shoulder comrade."

Monster was about to reply when Anzhela walked in. "Shit! Are you all right?" She ran up and carefully hugged him. She had on a simple leather jacket with a gas mask hanging loosely off her collar. "Jiminez said he saw TT here bring you in. What happened?"

"The white rabbit..." Monster joked. He quickly realized that laughing hurt too. "Get the PDA out of my pack. I recorded something I found. Apparently it was hungry."

Two-Tongue shuffled through Monster's pack and withdrew the PDA. He tapped it on, trying to wipe blood off of the screen. "Looks nasty."

"It was weird. That says alot for the zone." Monster winced as the bandgage started itching.

Anzhela swiped the PDA out of Two-Tongue's hand. "Is that a tree?"

"No. It just had alot of arms. Whatever it is, it is so far mutated and removed from the original genome, that there is probably no way to know what produced that. He gestured for her to hand him the PDA. She gave it to him. The video showed a large sasquatch looking thing with fifteen lengthy arms, swinging wildly. He remember how strong it was when it finally hit him. "My Gepard did nothing to it, so I tried to kill it with my Saiga. I hurt it, but it's still out there."

Two-Tongue frowned at the notion. "Something like that needs to be killed. Can you upload that data to my PDA? I'll get some buddies to and we'll find it. I'll send word to Barkeep too." Monster handed him the PDA. Two-Tongue set to work on copying the video, then left.

Anzhela pulled up a chair next to Monster's bed. "I brought some, um, painkiller." She handed Monster the baggy. "How are you feeling?"

"Like crap. Thanks for asking. What about you, what have you been up to?" He grunted as he stashed the bag in his pack.

"Oh, you know. The same old. Me and my hubby went to pripyat again. We found some more of those arifacts if your interested..." She had already nestled the Painkiller next to his head. He felt better already.

"How did he get that scar?"

Anzhela looked at him and smiled. "He might be angry if I tell you, but I will anyways. He was still a teenager during the Cold War. Some kids at his school knew he was Russian, had a bit to drink, and decided to torture him." She grimaced. "I remeber he got deported for shooting them afterwards."

"He killed them?" Monster was surprised that Two-Tongue had that cold killer quality to him.

"No. According to him, kneecaps are exceedingly painful, but never kill." She smiled. "He moved back to Volgagrad, and that's when I met him." She lit a cigarrette, took a couple drags and handed it to Monster. He gladly took it.

"So what now? I'm stuck here for a while," he said in English.

"What?" She looked baffled.

"Oh, sorry. I said 'what now? I'm stuck here for a while.'" He reverted back to Russian.

"I don't know. The Freedom guys will keep care of you. We'll come by and visit often. Don't worry, you'll be fine!" She flicked a hair away from her face. "Hey, I'll be back. I've got to talk to the gun guy here. My Zastava overheated and the barrel warped. See you!"

"Bye," Monster chuckled. After she left he pulled out the baggy.

It was a rainy night East of Rostok. Monster Grimaced as the constant patter of rain on his Exosuit's helmet continued to grate on his nerves. Each second, the rain beat harder and harder on his helmet. He could barely hear his own footsteps past the rain.

He tapped the radio up the front of the helmet. "Anyone hear me? We're coming up on a tunnel. TT, are you sure about this?"

He almost couldn't hear the distorted response. "Yeah. We chsed the thing back here. I saw some mercs in the area, so we should be careful."

"TT, I've got my doubts." Monster said back.

"Don't worry. Anzhela is hanging back behind us. If anything happens, she'll find some high ground and give us fire support. What's your position?"

Monster pulled up the map on his PDA. "I'm about fifteen meters ahead of the Freedom guys. Their heading to move up to my right. Where are you?"

"About sixty meters directly to your left. I'm not seeing anything over here. All these damn trees make it hard to see anything."

"Let's keep moving. I don't want to be found by a party of Mercs."

They moved foward, keeping a broad line of advamce. They started convergin on the tunnel entrance. The rain was getting heavier, making it hard for everyone to hear.

They finally reached the tunnel. Two-Tongue and the group of Freedom guys spread out from the entrance to watch their backs. Monster went a little into the tunnel. The beast was gone.

He came out and walked towards Two-Tongue. Something slammeed into the side of his helmet and knocked him over. His ears were ringing from the impact, but at least he was alive. He crawled behind a fallen tree next to Two-Tongue. "The rain is covering their shots! We can't hear them!" Two-Tongue yelled. "At least we can still see them!" He was busy unpacking a RPK-74 from his pack. Yanking out the last piece with a victorious grunt, he quickly began assembling it.

Monster let the ringing stop before sitting up. He felt the dent in his helmet in surprise. "Damn, one of them has good aim!" He yelled to Two-Tongue, who was busy finishing assembly on the RPK-74. "Why the hell did you keep that thing packed?!"

"Because of this!" He hefted the huge rifle from his side, "Kinda pointless right now in my opinion." He set the M-82 down. He set the assembled RPK on the tree and opened fire. The machine roared over the rain. "See how our boys are doing!"

Monster held the radio up the helmet's mouthpiece. "Hey! You guys alive out there?!" he yelled into the radio.

"We're fine! Ilya's got his grenade launcher. It's working wonders out here!" Someone yelled in response.

"Keep up the perimeter! Don't let anyone through!" Monster slung the radio into a pocket in the front of the Exosuit, and rest his G36 on the log. A bullet rang past his head, and he returned fire on the muzzle flash. The flashing abrubtly stopped as the shooter got slammed in the chest by three 5.56mm rounds.

Two-Tongue couldn't help but laugh as he sprayed bullets into the trees around them. Every time he saw a muzzle flash, he quickly responded with an extended burst of rounds. He could see that the attackers were already starting to be a bit more cautious. "That's right, get your asses back!"

Monster slammed more rounds into another attacker when he saw the beast rumbling through the trees. It smashed into one of the attackers, and the rest quickly dived from cover to get away from the beast. Monster watched as they turned around, ignoring his group completely, and opened fire on the beast. He picked up his radio. "Focus on the thing. We can clean them up after that thing goes down."

The roar of combined gun fire drowned out the rain. The thing shrugged off the hundreds of bullets being pumped into it. It smashed an arm into one bandit as it crushed another between three more massive arms. The attackers were starting to panick. "Take that damn thing down! It'll come after us when it's done with them!" Two-Tongue fucused his attention on the beast, going full auto on it. Monster smiled as the shells and links flew to the ground.

The beast roared at the torrent of metal, and slammed into another bandit, crushing him between the teeth that were hidden in the center of its body by all the arms. Gun fire tore off an arm as it munched on the masticated bandit. It swallowed the man, and went to work on another bandit.

Two-Tongue was blind-sighted as a pair of AKs fire at him from ten meters to his right. Monster yelled, unloading on the the two bandits as he watched Two-Tongue go down. The bandits went down, and Monster ran to the RPK and manned it himself, emptying the last of the drum into the monster. He saw a muzzle flash in a tree on a hill overlooing the battle. The stream of bullets slammed into the monster's back.

It finally went down, a fallen bandit between its drooling jaws.

The Freedom guys charged the remaining bandits and held them at gun point, their green exosuits dented and battered. The bandits threw down their guns.

Monster sidled up to Two-Tongue. He was still alive, but he was bleeding from a gaping hole in the side of his Exosuit. "Funny how only one of them was using AP rounds. They were obviously not prepared for us," Two-Tongue husked through his helmet. Monster took off the helmet to let him breath fresh air. His friend smiled down at him. "Get Anzhela. And the Doc." Two-Tongue coughed.

"Doc, Anzhela, I need you over here now!"

Doc was almost instantly on Two-Tongue, stripping off pieces of armor to check his vitals. He bandaged the wound over Two-Tongue's ribs and side. "The bullets passed through his lung and liver. This is bad," Doc whispered to Monster. "He needs a surgeon."

"There aren't any surgeons around here..." Monster grimaced.

Anzhela Ran past and almost feinted when she saw Two-Tongue. "Shit, you bastard! Do I always have to keep care of you?!" She screamed at him. "How bad is it?" She whispered.

Two-Tongue smiled up at her, blood covering his teeth. "Anzhela, don't worry about me."

She swore. "Shit! You're dying! Don't do this to me!"

He still smiled. "Listen, this pain is only an illusion. We are all part of life, and I will still be with you."

"Don't give me your philosophical bullcrap! Just don't die."

"It's too late. I can feel it. I'm done. I love you, watch that prick's back for me. I won't be around to save his ass all the time." He smiled at Monster. "And you best watch her, I'll come back and kill you if you don't. Make sure nothing happens to her." He sighed, feeling his life slowly drain out. He pulled a book from the pants underneath his Exo. He handed the book, written by Emerson, to Anzhela. "Very good book. I'll there when I die. Living life alongside you. I love you." With that, Two-Tongue expired.

Anzhela didn't shed a tear. Instead, she handed her gun and pack to Monster, picked up Two-Tongue's body, and said "Let's get home. He needs to buried with friends."

The Freedom guys confiscated the bandits' weapons and left. Leaving behind the fleshy mass of the dead monster. It still spazmodicly twitched, as the body still in it's mouth slowly slid in.

The bandits ran as far as they could from the giant corpse.
