I enjoyed it, though the walls of text were a bit much, and I'm not a grammar expert, but I think you used 'Jerich' way too much in places it wasnt needed

It looks good, but I didn't read any of it - get some paragraphs in there, walls of texts are unreadable.

Chapter 9

The next day Jerich's headache had gone and he was ready to move further into the zone. He packed up his bedroll and took some food and drink from the Gas station before leaving. When Jerich walked outside into the early morning light he saw four military standing around a dead group of Monolith. He decided to sneak around them to avoid unwanted trouble, so he went prone and started crawling under the cars and jeeps on the road. Jerich rolled out from the last jeep and hugged the wall, peaking around the corner he saw the military were actually zombies, getting ready to ambush any unaware travelers. One of the zombified military picked up an M4 Assault rifle and started moving to the darkness of the Red Forest itself followed by the three other unarmed zombies. Jerich quickly stood up and continued onward, looking towards the forest every now and again, making sure nothing was going to ambush him. Jerich finally made it to a long bridge leading from his side of the road to the next, unfortunatly it was home to around thirty armed and dangerous zombies. Jerich sprinted off behind a rock when one started firing and limping towards him, about half the other zombies started off towards his direction too. Jerich pulled out his shotgun and began firing at the zombies, to little effect he was too far away. Jerich peaped out from behind the rock and heard a faint sound, it was coming closer. It was suddenly louder than ever and out from behind the giant rock walls a military chopper was in view. it hovered in place at the side of the bridge, firing large caliber machine guns at the zombies and bridge. Cars were exploding and blood was flying, Jerich stood up hugged the cliff wall to his left. He stared at the bloodbath on the bridge, about a dozen zombies were still lumbering around on the bridge, burnt and some even dismembered. Jerich looked towards the unmoving chopper, it was then he realised what was happening, they were going to take down the bridge. Jerich pulled back and watched and waited, then it happened.......

Chapter 10

The explosion seemed to shake the very foundation of the earth. Jerich dived face first to the ground and put his hands over his head to avoid any shrapnel. When everything became quiet Jerich stood up and saw the the Helicopter had been hit with a piece of heavy metal, causing it to plummet onto the road under the bridge. Jerich peaked over the edge and saw some zombies were still alive, walking around in a confused state. Jerich knew soldiers would be coming back his way so he decided to face the cold dark of the red forest, it was the only place to go. As he reached the treeline he hesitated, then took his first steps into the dreaded place. Inside the anomolous area Jerich saw no signs of life other than a pair of Psuedodogs feasting on a dead soldier. Jerich moved onward to a giant rock, it was warm to the touch, as if it was alive. He pulled out a piece of bread and munched on it hungily, making sure to drop a piece to mark his spot. He got up after a swig of water and headed onward, making sure to avoid the anomolies which seemed to be everywhere. His gieger counter clicking and getting faster as he went onward, a few meters inward he heard the faint sound of a guitar playing. Jerich loaded his shotgun and followed the sound arriving at a wrecked chopper hidden behind a large rock, the music was coming from inside. Jerich rounded behind the chopper facing a large rear entrance. The guitar music stopped playing and he heard two voices. "So, how did are we going to get out of here?" Said the first voice, a second voice soon replied, "I don't know, I think we should head out soon, we're running low on supplies." Jerich soon heard a third voice, "I'm heading out, I'll come back if I find anything." Jerich heard movment inside and a door on the left side slid open, a man in a SEVA suit walked out and pulled out a 45 Revolver. Jerich hid behind a tree waiting for him to pass, as the man came to the tree Jerich jumped out in front of the man, "Don't move, take me back to the chopper and drop the shit." The man did as he said and dropped his revolver, silently hitting the ground. "Turn around." Jerich pulled out his pistol and grabbed the man by the neck, holding a pistol to his head. They headed to the chopper and the man slid open the side door, casting light into the dark helicopter. "What are you doing back so-God damn it!" The two men stood up and pointed their MP5's at Jerich. "Try anything and I'll put a bullet right into his head, now drop your weapons!" The two men dropped their MP5's reluctantly and put their hands in the air. Jerich threw the man he had hostage towards the two now unarmed men, keeping his weapon aimed towards the three mn in SEVA suits. Jerich started interigating them. "Who are you people?" The man furthest to the left told Jerich that they were Scientists on the way to Pripyat before being shot down by a military chopper and crash landing into the Red Forest, "What do you have in here?" The man Jerich took hostage finally sopke up, "We have nothing, you can take our ammo and small rations, its all we have." Jerich nodded and told them to hand it all over. Jerich was packing the items into his pack, keeping a close eye on the scientists. As he finished packing the goods he stood up and held his shotgun at the scientists. "Get out of here, now!" He pulled open the door and ordered them out. "You can't stick us out here, we are unarmed!!" Screamed one of the scientists. Jerich smiled and slammed the door shut, sealing it with a large metal beam. Jerich headed to the choppers cockpit and looked outside, the scientists were banging on the windows for help, one got pulled down and under the chopper, Jerich jumped back and stared at the window. The two other Scientists screamed and sprant away into the trees, followed by the dark shape of a bloodsucker. Jerich thought he was safe, but then he heard banging outside the chopper, there were zombies surrounding on all sides. Jerich made sure all the doors were sealed, then he heard a loud crash, they had destroyed the cockpit window, they began pouring in. Jerich cursed and slammed the cockpit door closed, sealing it with the hatch. Jerich picked up one of the scientists MP5's and loaded it, he aimed the MP5 at the main doors. Sweat poured from his head, he breathed heavily awainting the creatures to breach. Suddenly Jerich heard gunshots and shouts. It seemed as though the military scouts had come, they moved from tree to tree, firing at the zombies, putting them down one by one. The military were unstoppable, they began killing the remaining zombies before finally getting to the chopper, they placed C4 explosives on the door and took cover, the door blew, sending Jerich flying back and hitting the wall. The military came into the chopper, through the flames and into the dark, they picked up Jerich and tossed him onto the grass outside. He saw a man who seemed to be in charge walking towards him. He grabbed Jerich by the collar and looked into his dazed eyes. "He's still alive, take him to the APC and drive to the chopper we'll rendevous by 2100 hours." He dropped Jerich back to the ground and walked off, ordering two grunts to pick him up and take him off to his fate..

Chapter 11

Jerich woke up to the loud roar of a helicopter, he was strapped to a chair and surrounded by military, in the middle stood the man from the forest. He rolled up his sleaves and paced back and forth, the soldier came to a halt in front of Jerich, smiled and punched Jerich in the face. Jerich spat blood from his mouth then rose his head to meet the eyes of the soldier. "Hit me again you bastard! Do it!" Jerich spat blood at the soldier. The soldier wiped the blood from his face and laughed, rose his fist and punched him again and again, leaving two bloody bruises on Jerichs face. "Alright, now to buisness." said the soldier with a large grin, he went to a medical box and pulled out a scalpel. "Alright, what were you doing in the area, what do you know of the brain scorcher?" Asked the soldier. "Fuck. You." replied Jerich, Jerich laughed. "You son of a bitch!" The soldier got the scalpel and slashed and stabbed at Jerichs chest. Jerich screamed in pain. "I know nothing of it, I don't want to!" Screamed Jerich. "You lie..." Jerich noticed the door was still open, he saw the land flyng by underneath. Jerich moved his gaze into the soldiers eyes, who was wiping blood from his hand with a dirty cloth, Jerich rose his legs and thrust them into the mans stomach, throwing him from the chopper and into the land below. There were three other soldiers who raised M4 Carbines to Jerich, Jerich kicked one of the soldiers hands before he shot, the bullet flew into the cockpit and capped the pilot in the head. The chopper violently started spinning in the air, going down and down. The soldiers and Jerich flew from the chopper and fell to the ground below....

Chapter 12

Jerich lifted his head from the mud he was in and saw marsh as far as the eye can see. There was no one in sight and he was still stuck in the chair. As he lifted himself from the ground he saw the soldiers were all dead, Jerich moved to one of the bodies and picked up a knife, he began to cut his bonds. When the bonds were cut he stretched his arms and back, looking around he noticed his pack was gone and he had no weapon either. Jerich went to the military bodies again and saw there weapons were broken, he picked up a knife and head into the tall weeds and shrubs. The ground sunk as he moved, Jerich took a few more steps and found himself in a pool of water, it extended as far as the shrubs on the other side, past that was a tower, he saw movement. Jerich crouched slumped into the water, keeping only his eyes visible, the search light of the tower moved across the land searching for anyone. Jerich finally made it to the edge and crawled into the tall weeds
moving slow and quiet, avoiding the mercenary patrols that roamed the marsh. Jerich snuck up on a merc that was only feet away, then jumped up and stabbed him in the throat. Blood poured from the mercs neck, making the water crimson red. Jerich pulled the mercenaries pack off and looked inside, one 45. revolver, several med kits and two bandages. Jerich swung the pack over his dirty leather suit and picked up the mercs Thunder S14. He crawled towards the base, as he got closer he noticed the helicopter had crashed into the structure leaving it in rubble. Jerich got to the edge of the weeds and noticed going any further would result in death. He decided to stay hidden and take them out in secret. Jerich puled back into the weeds again and rose the S14, he took aim and took out the sniper in the tower. The mercenaries were shouting and running around in a crazed state. "Open fire!" The mercs took cover behind barrels and opened fire on the marshland. Jerich went as low as he could, making sure to move away from the incoming fire. "Hold your fire!" Jerich got up into a crouching position and put a shot the commander giving orders, "Get out of here! He's dead!" Half the mercenaries fled into the fog of the marsh, leaving half a dozen left. The remaining mercs moved to better cover while Jerich was reloading the S14, he rose the S14 again and took aim and pulled the trigger six times.......Six mercenaries fell from thier cover, bleeding from the throat. Jerich rose from his cover and walked to the base. It was a refinery, with a large tower rising in the middle, flames growing from the chopper wreck. He checked the bodies of the dead mercs, taking more S14 ammo and a new suit. Jerich pulled off his tattered leather jacket and slid the blue urban suit of the mercenaries over his head. Jerich found an unused kevlar vest and slid it over the uniform, it was rather light but provided good defence.
Jerich dragged the bodies into the main tower and threw them into the fire, leaving a horrible smell to spread across the marshes, "Damn..." Jerich said to himself as the smell hit him. Jerich moved up a level of the tower and found a small room, it was filled with barrels and machinery. On the far west of the room was a small window with a mounted 50 Caliber machinegun overlooking the marsh, fog blocked the view. Jerich sat down against the far wall and started a fire. What Jerich didn't know was the creatures outside were coming, and they were hungry....

Chapter 13

Jerich was getting ready to sleep, while he was unfolding his bedroll he heard a bone chilling scream outside. He stood up and peaked out the window, down below was six Bloodsuckers, followed by more than three dozen zombies moving through the weeds. Jerich threw down his S14 and got on the mounted machinegun, he cocked it and turned off the saftey, he pulled the trigger. The high caliber round tore the zombies to shreads, while the bloodsuckers dashed out of view, Jerich continued to hold down the trigger, allowing the bullets to pump into the marsh, the zombies didn't seem to stop coming, 'click, click, click', "Damn it!". The weapon had run out of ammo. Jerich ran to the door and sealed it, he ran to the far wall and aimed his weapon at the door. The door began to pound, something was pounding on the other side, Jerich knew he was screwed, he went to a nearby cabinet and pulled the door open, revealing an RPG7u. He loaded it and aimed towards the door. Time seemed to slow as the door kept banging, the roars outside from the bloodsuckers...Jerich reached into his pocket and pulled out a picture of his wife, he said sorry, and prayed as if the picture was a sanctuary. He pocketed it as the door burst open, bloodsuckers poured in. Jerich yelled with anger and fear and pulled the trigger on the RPG, an explosion shook the tower killing all inside, including Jerich. The tower fell, crushing the zombies below.
All was silent the next day, all was calm. Jerich had saved numerous people that last night, the creatures would have spread like wildfire into the Southern most reaches of the zone, killing all in sight, without mercy. Many would speak of his bravery around the camp fires, many would remember him for all he did.....Good and evil.....

Jerich's Travels

Chapter 0

It was a dark stormy night, two Loners sat around the fire inside an old shack on the edge of a cliff over looking the freedom base, waiting for someone, he was gone longer than he should be. Finally one of the loners spoke up, his name was Jerich, "Maybe he didn't make it." The other loner pulled out, and lit a ciggarete, illuminating the webs and mold covering the walls. "He will show up, and we will get what we were promised, if he turns up empty handed, we take matters into our own hands." replied the hooded man. Jerich looked up from the floor and was about to speak to the man before he saw a light from outside the shack. Jerich whispered to his companion, "Theres someone out there, stay low and keep quiet. You still have that silencer I gave you?" The man nodded and screwed the silencer on the barrel of his 9 mm. Jerich hid behind the door with his knife in his hands, the other man crouched behind the tattered couch, throwing his ciggarete into the barrel of fire. Two minutes later the front door burst open, headlamp illuminating the house. He slowly walked into the living room. The door slammed close behind him, before he could react, Jerich lunged at the unknown man and held his knife to the mans throat. The man pulled off his breathing mask, revealing his face. The man coughed, "Its me! Gerard, I have the goods, let me go!" Jerich let him go and shoved him away, ordering him to show the goods. "These were hard to come by" said the man whilst unpacking his backpack. "50 rounds for this here AK74u, two of these Dragonov rifles, and I found this baby, an exoskeleton, top of the line." Gerard smiled and stood back from the merchandise. Jerich walked forward, handing Gerard the money and the two artifacts. "I suggest you get out of here Gerard, the Freedom troopers are bound to notice the missing goods, its going to get hairy for awhile. Gerard nodded, and ran out of the shack and into the dark rainy night. "You, whats your name?" Jerich asked his companion. "My name is Rob Ford, but you're right, we should be going." Jerich packed half the goods into his pack and Rob packed the rest into his. The walked through the creaking house, checking for anything else that may have been valuable. "You find anything?" Asked Jerich, "Nope, you?" Jerich shook his head and said it was time to go, they opened the door and checked the area, it looked clear. They made a run for it, jumping over rocks and sprinting into the trees at the edge of the forest, Rob pulled out a pair of military grade binoculars and looking for any resistance, "I can't see a damn thing in this rain!" Rob said into Jerich's ear. "Well I guess we should have some good cover then, alright, on the count of three we make it to those cars and take cover, one, two, three!" They sprinted out from the trees, running to the cars which lay less than half a mile away. Jerich suddenly heard screams behind him, he stopped and looked back, Rob was being thrown about in the air...An anomoly picked him up and swung him around, tearing his upper body from his waist. Jerich ran to Rob who was barly alive, begging for help. Jerich saw a pack of blind dogs aproaching his direction, Jerich knew he had no chance, so he took Robs pack and ran, leaving Rob for the hounds. He squinted as he heard his old companion screaming as he was being torn apart by the dogs, he shook his head and continued on to the cars....

Chapter 1

Jerich woke up early the next morning, staring at the inside of the trunk. He stretched and kicked open the trunk, the rain had cleard and the sun shone brightly. He stood up from the trunk and moved around getting his blood flow up. He pulled over his hood and tied his rag around his nose and mouth. He headed back south towards the Duty base where he would sell some of the goods, they could pay heavy nowadays. He pulled out a bottle of Vodka and drank it slowly as he walked down the water drenched road, reading traffic signs and remembering back when the streets were busy, way before the incident in 1986, he was only a child, a child lucky enough to get out without getting radiated, he came back to the zone for money, and to find the life he would have never had outside the zone, he sometimes wandersif it was the right choice to come to the zone, but then a job opportunity comes along, and the thoughts die. Jerich stopped in his tracks and looked up on a hill, there was a small trailer, movement was noticable. He pulled out his Okoban and headed up the hill. He was greeted by three hooded loners, they invited him to sit down, he agreed and finished his vodka while listening to some guitar tunes. After thirty minutes he tossed his empty bottle aside and left the camp, and headed south again. Finally he saw the towers of the Duty base, they were a welcome sight. He headed inside and headed towards the 100 Rabs Bar to sell some loot to the Barkeep. Finally he made it inside and took a seat at the bar, he had a short chat and made the transaction, selling the two AK 74u's and half the ammo for it, selling one Dragonov, keeping the other for himself. They made short farewells, then Jerich headed out of the bar, getting the same farwell from the guard at the entrance. He headed towards a little area and changed into his exoskeleton, it was heavy, but he could tell it was heavily resistant to enemy fire. After he was all suited up he smiled, pulled his hood over his head and tied his rag across his face. As he walked back towards the bar, he was apprehended by two Duty soldiers, one pointing a rifle at him. "You, you are Jerich correct?" Jerich nodded, "Well Jerich, the items you sold were stolen from Freedom" Jerich sighed and replied, "So, you are thier enemies, what do you care?" The Dutier grinned, "We are still recovering from a recent attack from some zombies, we can't afford Freedom attcking us...But, we captured a few zombies last time, and I'm sure they want some action.." The Dutier looked to his friend and nodded, the other dutier slammed his weapon into Jerichs face.

Chapter 2

Jerich woke up in the arena, doors heavily locked on both sides. He looked around, noticing he still had his exoskeleton and they left him with his Okobon too. He stood up wandering what the hell was going on, but that was when the announcer came on. "Jerich, for you entertainment, will now be fed to these undead beasts!" Jerich was shocked, he heard some doors on the other side of the arena open, then close. Jerich checked his ammo and then ran on top of some boxes, as he expected, he saw about forty zombies, shoulder to shoulder coming right to him. Jerich squeased off several rounds into some of the zombies heads, "Shit", Jerich knew he didn't have enough bullets to kill them all, only one more clip and one grenade. He pulled out the pin on the grenade, and cooked it, then tossed it into the crowd of zombies nearest him, killing off a dozen beasts, splattering gore all over Jerichs face. As Jerich prepared to shoot more bullets to the beasts heads, the doors of the arena were blown open, Freedom poured in, killing off zombies, then aiming at Jerich, Jerich jumped down from the boxes and took cover, sure enough, Duty joined in on the fight, Freedom shot everyone on sight including innocent loners. Jerich noticed the arena doors were still open, so he sprinted out and headed back into Rostok towards the Freedom base. For saftey he hid in a bush on the side of the road. An hour after the explosions and gunfire, Freedom got pushed back to their territory, Jerich sighed in relief and stepped out from his hiding place, pulled out his Okobon and headed towards the small dark town on the edge of the road leading from Bar to the Freedom Base.

Chapter 3

Jerich walked under the arched entrance to the town, it was deserted, would be a great place to lie low for a couple of days. He saw several houses, a few barns and a dark tower loomed over the rest of the town, as if it was an all seeing eye. Jerich knew it would be on the safe side to check the town for intruders. As he walked through the deserted town he found bodies of soldiers, they had deep gashes in their chests, he searched some bodies and found a nice Spas 12 guage shotgun with twelve shells. The wind got heavier as he headed further into the town, he pulled his face rag tighter around his face. Jerich head to a big square on the east side, only to hear a horrifying roar, and seeing movement in the inside of buildings. Jerich slowly backed away, only to see the faint shape of a creature sprinting towards him, it was invisible. "AHHHH" Jerich raised his shotgun and shot off his remaining rounds at the creature, the creature got knocked down, revealing its tentacled face and glowing red eyes, it quickly jumped back up and turned invisible again, sprinting at Jerich. Jerich squezed off a couple more shots only to hear clicks. "Damn it!" Jerich shouted, he threw his shotgun at the Bloodsucker and ran as fast as he could, he could hear the footfalls behind him, the growls, he started to hear more growls coming from the buildings. He saw movment coming form all sides. He sprinted around a corner to be met by another bloodsucker, it turned visible an pounced ontop of Jerich, trying to tear at his throat and suck out the blood, Jerich was loosing his strength, he prepared to face death. He was about to give up before he saw a dark figure standing above him, the figure blasted the creature off of Jerich, saving his life. Jerich was loosing conciousness, last thing he saw before he passed out was the figure keeping the creatures at bay, shouting and screaming. The figure stopped firing then headed towards Jerich, dragging him towards a small house, then Jerich lost conciousness.....
Jerich was coming to, he sat up and blinked, noticed he was lying in someone elses bedroll. Jerich saw his weapons were lying beside him, neatly rapped up in rags, he picked up his weapons and put on his clothes. Jerich made sure to ready his shotgun. Jerich creeped outside the room he was in and headed down the stairs. Standing there was a lone man, cooking boar meat and bread over a fire, Jerich pumped the shotgun, popping out the last shell. The man turned around and looked towards Jerich, he was calm, "Who are you?" Jerich said coldly, the man replied, "They call me Guide, come sit, lets talk."

Chapter 4

"So thats what happened." Guide had finished telling Jerich how he had been knocked out and what had happenened since. Jerich shook his head and rubbed his eyes, it was all coming back, the arena, the fight, the mutants, "What were you doing here?" Asked Jerich, Guide shrugged, "I was just passing through, thats when I heard the shouts and gunfire, I figured you were just a military grunt, but when I arrived I noticed you were just a regular loner, I thought I might as well just help you out." Jerich wanted more answers but knew he'd only get half the story. After a minute of awkward silence, Jerich sopke up again, "Where is my exo?" Guide pointed into the corner of the room at a pile of metal, "Right there, I had to break it to get it off you, the bloodsucker pounded it right into your chest." Jerich looked at the pile of scrap metal then to his bandaged chest. They started eating a meal of boar meat and vodka, Jerich was so hungry he devoured it in a matter of minutes, picking up piece after piece. After they finished Guide doused the fire and asked one last question, "Where are you going?" Jerich looked up from his vodka and slured out his reply, "North" Guide laughed, "You're drunk, come, I will take you safetly to a hideout, then we must depart." Jerich tried to stand up but fell over as he tried, he fell flat on his back and started to laugh. Guide shook his head and put his arm around Jerich's neck, "Come on." Guide dragged Jerich to the road, he looked up to the sky, he had to get Jerich to the hideout before morning, he figured two or three hours. After miles of travel over grass, road, and water, they finally made it to the hideout, a large sewer tunnel. Guide threw Jerich to the ground who had passed out again and closed the the large hatch at the entrance, pulling out a 50 Caliber sniper rifle and resting it on the rusty metal bars of the hatch. Guide didn't see anyone outside so figured it would be safe, he raised the hatch to the tunnel, stepped outside then closed it again, leaving Jerich alone.
Jerich woke up the next morning with a hangover, his head was pounding and he felt like throwing up. He steadied himself on the wall of the tunnel, blinking rapidly to regain his vision, he noticed Guide was gone, and that he was in a large tunnel. Jerich looked to the bars, they were obviously not locked , but as he tried to raise them, a lumbering Psuedogiant came into view, Jerich moved back from the bars, he hoped the giant wouldn't notice him, but thats when it faced the bars, roared and started pounding the hatch, slowly bending it inward. Jerich looked around, knowing the only way to go was back, he ran. He could only hear his heart pounding, knowing the creature was now through the hatch it only had one target, him. As he ran down the dark tunnels, not knowing what horrors lie inside he could hear the creature roaring behind him. At last Jerich saw a small light bulb hanging from the cieling, and beyond, a small metal door. He sprinted as fast s he could, concentrating on the glimer of hope which was that door. At last he reached the door, he pulled and tugged but it wouldn't open, he slammed it and kicked it....It wasn't moving, at last Jerich decided to give it one last kick, with luck, it slammed right open, he jumped inside and secured the door with a bar. Jerich bent over and layed his hands on his knees, breathing heavily. At last he looked up and saw where he was, it was a small storage room, stocked full of food and drink, he packed some into his pack, and guzzled down a bottle of water. Jerich knew he faced another problem though, he was trapped, the Giant was outside waiting for him to leave. He looked left to right, up and down but didn't see anything, but then Jerich noticed something, the fridge, what was it doing in a sewage tunnel? He moved to it slowly, pulling out his shotgun, he pulled the fridge door open, sure enough there was another tunnel behind it, this wasn't a sewer, this is one of Guides hideouts. Jerich tried the light switch, he flipped it twice but nothing, the light was dead. He turned on his headlamp revealing worn wooden walls covered in spider webs. He moved down a short creaking staircase and coming into a large room, it was full of big and small wooden boxes. Out of curiosity Jerich pulled the lid off of one, inside was about five glowing artifacts, he opened another box, sure enough, more artifacts. He opened every box, all of them had artifacts. "I'm fucking rich." He stuffed as many artifacts as he could into his pockets and pack. He had as much as he could carry, but then a startling realization hit him. The psuedogiant was still lumbering outside the storage room, how was he to get out? He checked the walls looking for any more secret passages, he found nothing. As Jerich went to leave, he noticed a small closet under the stairs, he opened its creaky door and peaked inside. In the corner was a skinny man in a black military suit, he was quivering and shaking, breathing heavily. Jerich took a step forward, the man stopped quivering...He stopped breathing...The man turned his head around slowly, revealing two bloodshot eyes, wide open staring. It sent shivers down Jerichs spine, he tried to move but was frozen with fear, the man all of a sudden crawled like a spider, with inhuman speed right towards and past Jerich, Jerich jumped out of the way firing a shotgun shell at the creature, the snork. The Snork lept all across the room, crawling on items on the wall. At last it stopped, did an inhuman roar and lept at Jerich. Jerich quickly pulled up his shotgun and aimed it at the snork, then introduced a shell to the creatures skull, the snork fell backwards head blasted into pieces. Jerich looked at the dead snork, wandering why it was this far south and most of all, how it got in the closet. Jerich decided to check the closet again, when he did he found a small crawlspace, it headed north. Jerich didn't have anywhere else to go, he crawled inside and headed into the blackness.

Chapter 5

To Jerich it seemed like he was crawling for hours, it seemed to go on and on. About an hour in Jerich came to a junction, one tunnel leading to the left, the other to the right, seemed he wasn't going any further north. He dicided to take the right passage. At last he reached another corner, around that corner was light. He started crawling faster till he reached the exit, when he came out the other end the light from the now mid day sun was blinding him. When his vision became clear he took in his surroundings, instead of heading north west, he had come out at a drainage pipe right at the edge of the Freedom base. They knew to shoot him on sight, he did of course steal there goods. Jerich heard faint voices coming from around the wall, Jerich didn't know what to do, he just pulled his face rag tight across his face and prayed not to be noticed. Jerich started walking casually, drawing little attention to himself. The freedom patrol saw him but didn't stop him, he got away. As Jerich got out of sight he dug a small hole under the wall to the base, quietly slinking under. On the other side there was a barracks in front of him, this was his chance, when the patrol on the main road had passed he broke into the barracks, stealing a Freedom suit and a gas mask. He walked out and he was payed very little attention, "Ok, stay cool" Jerich kept saying to himself. When he rounded the corner Jerich bumped into a man named Max. "You, watch where yo're going!" Jerich nodded and muttered to himself. Max frowned and started staring at Jerich. Jerich thought his cover had been blown. "Sir, reporting for duty." Max started shouting at Jerich, "I want you back at your god damn post now! What are you just standing here for? GO!" Jerich nodded, and ran to the nearest building and hid there, waiting for Max to pass. Jerich leaned against the wall and sighed in relief, he was getting tired, he had to get rid of some wieght. Jerich swung his pack to the ground and took out his Okobon, leaving it inside the building. Jerich felt slightly better, but still had to find the trader. At last Jerich found the building, "Damn it" Jerich saw that it was also the freedom headquarter building. Jerich made it to the door only to be stopped by the doorman. "Halt, you're supposed to be on patrol, what do you want?" Said the doorman in an unemotional voice. "I need to sell some stuff, plenty of artifacts here." Jerich replied. The doorman stepped aside without a word and let Jerich pass. Jerich climbed through the doorway and found himself in a rather clean lobby. He headed to the little room where the trader was. Jerich said no more than two words to him before dumping all the artifacts onto the traders table. The trader smiled and handed Jerich the money, Jerich nodded and walked outside the room and into the lobby, he thought he was home free, but then the very leader of the base showed himself....

Chapter 6

Jerich was trembling as the leader came closer, he was a tall man, flanked by two guards with exoskeletons and M16's. Jerich turned his back and headed towards the door, hoping that he wouldn't be called. "You! Come here, yes you." Shouted the leader. Jerich silently cursed and did an about face, becoming face to face with the enemy. Jerich tried to stay calm, "Yes sir." Jerich saluted on instinct, the leader looked at Jerich with piercing eyes, then finally said in his stern voice, "Round up the men, we are heading into the Red forest, the last man we sent came back as a nice piece of mangled flesh, we need to send a big party this time." Jerich was glad that he wasn't discovered, but not so much the fact that he had to work with his current enemy, he couldn't sneak away from the convoy, it'd attract too much attention. Jerich knew his only chance would be to work with his enemies, so he agreed, saluted again, then marched back outside. The skys were becoming darker, the rain was coming down faster and faster. Jerich finally found a large group of Freedomers. "You guys, we're going into Red Forest, get your stuff ready." Jerich stayed cool and rounded up about two dozen men. At last all the men were waiting at the main bridge awaiting further orders. Max, the man Jerich found earlier, was standing in the middle of the large group. "Alright, listen up. For those of you who haven't been yet, the Red Forest is a dangerous and strange place, keep alert and watch your back and you will come back alive. We're going to be bringing two convoy trucks along with us, you will pack in and await further orders, lets move it people!" The Freedom soldiers had looks of fear and amazment, they were scared, terrified. They split up fast and headed towards the trucks, when everyone was seated the trucks rolled out, the drivers had to watch out for the anomolies on the road, one wrong move and they'd all be dead. The freedomers were talking and joking, some were smoking cigarettes while others were tuning the guitars, but what they all had incommon was their fear. The rain was now like small bullets, pelting the freedomers and Jerich, Jerich pulled out an empty Vodka bottle and held it under the rain till it was full. Suddenly the ground shook as they reached the border to the Red Forest, Monolith were poring out of the area, weapons blazing. The convoys stopped and allowed the freedomers to exit. Bullets were flying everywhere, Jerich pulled out his Spas 12 guage and started firing at the Monolith, it seemed everytime he killed one, another five would come just as fast. The freedomer beside Jerich pulled out a grenade and tossed it into a group of Monolith dug in behind a huge bloodstained rock, sending the Monolith into a crazed run, Freedomers stood up from behind their cover and blsted at the Monolith now in the open, killing them instantly. The Monolith were not giving up, if they were shot, they'd continue crawling till they killed them, they really wanted Jerich and the invading Freedom troops dead. The smoke of the battle cleared, revealing the dozens of dead monolith bodies. When the Freedomers thought it was over, a loud rumbling noise could be heard, it was coming towards them, and fast. Jerich and the other Freedomers raised their weapons, expecting to see another band of Monolith rushing, what they saw was more dangerous, it was a military APC covered in the blood of the unfortunate military squad. The surviving Freedomers and Jerich fired on the heavily armoured vehicle, it didn't phase it. They didn't stop firing till they saw a hatch open on top of the APC, a heavily armoured Monolith soldier popped out and raised a grende launcher, aiming it right at the Freedomers, Max suddenly shouted out to all the troops, "RUN! Get out of here, take cover and open fire!" Two grenades hit the convoy vehicles, blowing them to pieces, the freedomers remaining and Jerich fired from high ground, taking out the troop with the grenade soldier. They cheered and continued to fire, "Shit!, Monolith troops pouring out from behind!" Max screamed out. Ten Monolith poured out from the APC, they were all wearing exoskeletons and carrying dead bodies for shields. Max continued ordering the troops, "Grenades! Grenade em'!" freedomers tossed their remaining grenades at the Monolith, killing four, but leaving the remaining six alive. The six screamed with bloodlust and began firing at the freedomers, pinning them all down behind cover. Jerich and a few other freedomers began blind firing from cover, hearing their bullets pinging off the Monoliths armour inefectivly. The freedom had been cut from 24 troops to to four weakened soldiers, Max, Jerich, and two others, Jerich couch ran towards Max on the other side of the hill, Jerich slammed against the bus Max was behind, pulling off his breathing mask and adressed Max, "We need to take them out, do you have any other heavy weaponry?" Max scowled, "You....You're the one who stole from us, forced us to attack the Duty headquaters!" Jerich sighed and shouted, "Get over it! What do we do damn it?" Max decided to tell Jerich what he knew, "You see that wooden tower over there, theres an RPG inside, use it to decimate the damn Monolith." Jerich looked towards the tower, he knew why Max hadn't said to go to the tower, it was right in the enemies range of fire, Jerich nodded and prepared to sprint at the wooden tower.

Chapter 7

Jerich calculated the times the Monolith stopped firing to reload, he figured he had five seconds to climb the tower and get the RPG before being torn to shreds. He closed his eyes, took two deep breaths then started running to the tower, bullets hitting the ground right behind his heals. Jerich dived behind some sandbags right infront of the tower, managing to get out of the enemies fire. Jerich signalled the Freedom troops to get some of the heat off of him, they stood up and charged to the left, opposite Jerich, Jerich stood up and lunged at the ladder, climbing with emmense speed. At last he made it to the top and found his prize, the RPG. He picked up a rocket and jammed it into the launcher. Jerich held his breath, took aim and pulled the triiger, the Rocket flew through the air, leaving a trail of smoke behind it. Jerich ducked behind a piece of broken wood when the rocket hit its target, he peaked from his hiding space, and what was once six Monolith was a pile of dismembered limbs and gore. Jerich climbed down from the tower and met up with Max and the two freedom troops. "Stalker, you are forgiven, you are now welcome to join us if you wish." Max stated, Jerich replied with thanks, "Thank you, but I am going to continue alone I will be rich before the end." Jerich walked away into the trees leading to the red forest.

Chapter 8

Jerich finally made it to a road with obvious signs of Monolith, bones, heads on spikes, dead soldiers. The rain was still pelting so he was slightly hidden among the abandoned cars and roadside buildings. Jerich kept his Shotgun ready, he was expecting trouble....Except nothing came. One would think it a good sign, but Jerich knew he was probably walking into an ambush.....But that never came either. "What the hell, there should be a small army here.." Jerich muttered to himself. Jerich noticed his geiger counter climbing, he pulled on the breathing mask and tightened his hood, he was heading into a hot spot. He kept walking into the lonly wasteland, expecting the never arriving ambush, Jerich finally saw a gas station coming into view, he headed over to the darkened windows trying to see inside, from what he could see it was empty. Jerich found the door and pushed it inward, taking his time not to make too much noise, step by step he checked his surroundings looking for any sign of life. He came across a dark hallway, leading to the back area. Jerich switched on his headlamp and headed slowly to the back, almost half way to the back he heard a bang out in the front, Jerich headed back and aimed his shotgun to the main store in the station. He looked around casting shadows on the walls with his lamp, he checked all the iles and found nothing. Jerich finally gave up and turned around, instantly he keiled over, his vision bluring, he could hear screatching and pounding as if it was inside his head. He dropped his weapon and burst out the front door into the rain, he fell backwards onto the wet road, rain pelting on his breathing mask. As he tried to get up he saw a pair of legs at the gas stations door, he looked up to the face of whatever was standing there, it was hideous, it was a heavily mutated man, a controller. Jerich screamed in agony, it was as if the controller was squeasing his brain from the inside, he managed to stand up and turn away, easing some of the pain. Jerich lumbered side to side holding onto anything for balance, as the pain continued he started drooling and foaming at the mouth. Jerich snapped, he turned around, pulled out his Kora-919 and started pumping rounds into the creatures head, the creature seemed to be loosing its hold of Jerich, Jerichs aim became normal again, when he was within arms length of the controller he pulled out his knife and stabbed the creature in the eye, killing it outright. Jerich shouted into the sky with bloodlust. He dropped to his knees, beside a puddle of blood and started laughing histerically. After he calmed down he stood up and ripped the breathing mask off his face, letting the freezing rain spread across his face. He pulled out his bottle of water and drank vigorously, tossed it to the ground and kicked the controllers dead body one last time. Jerich moved inside the gas station picking up his shotgun. After a quick glance at his PDA he saw it was almost 6 PM, he had to find a safe place to rest, he figured the gas station was good a place as any. He unpacked his bedroll and put it behind the counter, after a quick meal of salami and bread he got some well earned rest...
