Day 1- 6:57 PM
Today I gained entrance to the Chernobyl disaster area known as 'the zone'. Getting in was harder than I expected, soldiers seemed to be everywhere, we were lucky we had some weapons in our backpacks. Sivogo, the groups guide, was killed by a mine, taking my American friend John with him. Me and one other man who I did not know made it past the military after a heated gunfight, the man with me died soon after by what the locals call an anomoly, it picked him up from the ground and continued to spin him around until he was dead, it was awful. I made it to the top of the hill I was climbing to see a small village consisting of about 15 people, I made it to the village, expecting more trouble, but the people there were surprisingly nice. I wandered around a little and had a few chats, I learnt a bit about the zone itself and a little folklore, some crazy nutjobs were speaking of ghosts in some labs further in the zone, like I'm going to believe that though. After a bit of exploration I found a little underground shelter by some trees in the back, I went down and found a man named Sidovorich, he told me a lot, what to look out for, local landmarks, and some other interesting things. It turned out he was also a trader, I looked at what he had and bought myself a nice little pistol and some bandages. I headed back upstairs and decided I'd hang out at the camp for awhile. Right now I'm having some vodka around the fire, I think I'll get some sleep soon.
Day 2- 7 AM-9:37 PM
Horrible weather today, been raining ever since I got up today. Weather aside, I took my first steps outside the 'Rookie Village' today, it was like stepping into another dimension. The dogs are everywhere, thats if you can call them dogs, they are mutated and thin, as if they are undead. I'm traveling with a group of 5 including me today, someone already got torn apart by a giant boar, and apparently it was a younger boar, and someone else aimlessly walked into a bandit controlled village and took a bullet to the head. Us 3 surviving members are trying to find a way further into the zone through the fence, the main entrance is guarded by more military who I suppose took down the bridge. Damn, the military is coming our way.
Day 2- 10 AM - 8:24 PM
Well that was a close one, the military was doing a routine shakedown, took off with one of our members, I have no idea what they want with him but it can't be good. We killed ourselves a boar later and took some of its flesh for a meal later on. We made it across the fence and found more anomolies than I thought I'd ever see, we kept our distance and headed to a small farm with some other Stalkers there, they had a problem with mutated abominations called Flesh, we moved in and took out the flesh living across from the farm. Me and my group member, who I now know as Grant, got paid 50 ru for our help. Me and Grant stayed at the farm for awhile, trading some stuff that we had got so far. About an hour later we decided we should move out and check the old houses across the road from the farm, nothing interesting was there other than a few pieces of bread and some empty bottles, we heard bandits coming from the north, we thought it to be safe to hide in the house, we piled up some heavy boxes infront of the door to provide cover incase the bandits decided to check out the house. I'm going to get some rest, tommorow we're going to go into the area known as 'the garbage'.
Day 3- 5:46 AM
Damn it, the bastard Grant took off last night with all our stuff, including my pack. I have no food or drink, nothing. When I find the bastard I'm going to tear him apart.
Day 3- 6: 14 AM- 11: 29 AM
The checkpoint to the Garbage was heavily fortified by Bandits, I managed to scale the wall and sneak in behind them into the Garbage. Inside the garbage I saw heaps hills stacked with heaps of garbage, signs of anomolies were everywhere. I continued on, noticing how the very air changed as I went further onward, I had a run in with a pack of dogs, I fired off a few shots and they ran away in fear. I was starting to feel hungry and tired, I decided to rest against a nearby tree for awhile. After I was done eating the breadcrumbs which remained in my pockets, I got up and moved toward a vehical graveyard. I entered the area and was instantly greeted by a bandits firing at me, I took cover behid an old, rusted bus and fired blindly from behind cover. I saw a body beside me, apparently some poor soul walked into the ambush I experienced but didn't make it, I searched his pockets and found a standard grenade, I pulled the pin and tossed it towards the group of gangsters, they're bullets stopped firing as the grenade detonated, I waited a few minutes, then decided to go out and see if they were dead. I found a few of the bandits barely alive, begging for mercy, I shot them each. After I searched their bodies I found an MP5 with sufficient rounds and a couple of first aid kits. As I was leaving the graveyard, I heard distant cries for help and gunfire, I approached the noises to find a huge hanger, it seemed as though a few loners had been fighting some bandits, I decided to sit the fight out and take cover in a car resting by some trees to the west.
Day 3- 12:00 PM- 12:23 PM
I watched the fight through my binoculars, the loners got torn apart. After the bandits retreated back to their hideout, I decided to check the battleground for some helpful supplies, nothing, their bodies had been looted by the bandits short after the fight. I continued on to find a checkpoint controlled by men who I thought were soldiers, turned out they were the group of men called Duty, they told me I could not pass, but I showed them a bit of money and they understood, they opened the gate and let me continue, I'll update within the hour.
Day 3- 12:56 PM- 5:49 PM
Looks like these men, Duty, are doing well for themselves. They even have a Bar, The 100 Rads, they even have an arena. Other than a few mutants getting in now and again, its pretty comfortable for the zone. I bet on some arena matches then headed to the bar again, I'll be staying here for the night. Oh, I also found out that the traitorous scumbag, Grant, came through here, headed into the area known as the Wild Territory, I plan to head out there tomorrow and find him.
Day 4- 1:00 AM- 4:03 AM
I took my steps into the wild territory this morning, I instantly had to back out, Mercs were perched in trees and buildings, I almost got torn to pieces. I managed to dive back behind cover before I was hit, I decided to make a choice, go into the Wild Territory after I was better equiped, or I could join Duty and go with a group. I decided to use the latter idea, I requested to join, but they wouldn't let me, said I have to get more experienced, the nerve. Of course I headed back here to the bar, looking for some jobs.
Day 4- 5:09 AM- 8:37 AM
I found a job, apparently some guys brother wandered into an abandoned building in the Garbage and died, he wants me to get his stuff, and bring it back. Didn't sound too hard, well, thats what I thought. I made it to the Garbage again and within a couple of miles of travel west I found it, it was a three level flat, it looked safe. I headed inside and was faced by a pool of blood, but no body... I searched but couldn't find any trace of the body, I searched the second level and looked around, nothing. At last I was on the third level, I was beggining to think the man was playing me, telling me to go to a radiated old flat for no reason, that was before I heard the growls. It was around 6:00 AM, and still dark, I turned on my flashlight and headed towards the growls, as I round the corner I saw the most terrifying thing I had ever seen, a creature with obvious hints that it was once a human, but now, it was a horrible beast, crawled like a spider and leaped with terrifying speed. It started to come towards me, I pulled out my MP5 and put several rounds into its head, killing it within feet of my boots. I searched it and found nothing but dog tags. He, it, used to a soldier. I searched what it was interested in, it was my goal, I took the dead stalkers pack and any of his belongings. When I returned to the man in the bar, he thanked me and payed me 5000 RU, he must have wanted something bad. I'll be doing more jobs for several days, I'll update when I get into Duty.
Day 6- 8:50 PM- 9:00 PM
I GOT IT! I got into Duty. It took a couple of days but it was worth it....Kind of anyway. It happens to be a good news bad news situation, good news is I'm going into Wild Territory with a group of highly trained veterans, bad news is that our orders are to secure the trainyard, and hold the possition, thus I'll never be able to find Grant at this position. I hear many criminals don't travel past Wild Territory, its where Lake Yantar waits, swarming with zombies and other horrible abominations. Anyway we're moving out, I will update after the mission.
Day 6- 9:23 PM
That wasn't too hard, we secured up to the train yard and are currently holding at the courtyard. I don't think we'll be seeing any more attackers for awhile, other than the random dog or rat, I hope to-
The bastards, the mercs hadn't left at all, they were hiding in the trains and hit us off guard, instead of killing up they shoved us into Yantar for the zombies, its horrible, I don't know the current time or where my squad is, we got separated by a pack of zombies, one of them tore one of my comrads apart. I am hiding out in a bomb shelter, I have enough food and water to last months and the hatch seems to keep the creatures out. I hear them, all the time, he shufling, the groaning, the growls. You'd think these kind of things are only in the movies or books, but these were real. I'll update later, I need sleep.
Shelter day 1
I think I am going crazy, I keep hearing this screaching noise, as if something is trying to bore into my brain, it hurts, it hurts. Damn it, I just can't take this any longer, I need to dig, dig dig-
I used the survival gear to dig down throught the grating and earth. I managed to hit a new hatch, it seems as though several shelters were built on top of the lower levels. My flashlight is dying but I have to explore, I'm leaving my journal up here in case I don't return.
Oh god, it was horrible, there is a hell, there is a devil, I saw it. It was horrible, the noise I was hearing was from the dark one, he wanted me, he tried to take me over, my mind is what he wants, but he can't have it, he cant have he can't have. I don't know if I should leave or stay. The demons below will want to take me back to the dark one, but the zombified souls above want my flesh. I need help, help, help help.
Shelter day 2
I woke, expecting to be back in Cordon with my friends, with Wolf and other Rookies, but instead I wake up to the noise, the noise won't stop. The devil below is banging and roaring, it wants my mind. I must leave, I can't stay. I'm preparing to leave within the hour, there must be shelter somewhere, shelter.
I left the shelter and made it pass the zombies above, I was chased by a pack of dogs but finally made it to a scientist shelter. I banged on the door and was instantly grabbed by a pair of gloved hands, thats all I remembered before I woke up inside a small dark room with lockers and tools. I sit in the shelter now, hearing the bangs outside. The scientologists are so far the most caring, they have provided me with medicine and cleaned my wounds, I feel normal too, no more do I hear the screaching from the devil below. Whats this? A scientist is coming in with a gun, I suppose its just to intimidate me during an investiga-
Dr. Grant, this journal is from a mercenary named Han, he came in contact with some form of mind control, we had to terminate him dew to possible zombification, his body should arrive soon after you read this log.
