independent backpacks

First of all the backpack system isn't very good in game, its just a number.

what i propose is that like suits we should be able to buy backpacks, so when you buy a suit it only comes with belt webbing (for stuff like ammo, rads, bandages and grenades) which would have a weight limit of about 10kg, this means they DO NOT have a built in backpack

then if you wanted to go further you would have to buy your own backpack to go with it, and this could range from a small day pack of 10kg, to a massive hikers backpack of 50kg

so it would allow us to combine our own choice of backpacks and suits, and also take into consideration the larger the backpack the slower you run, and that weight limit should be set, so say if you have a 20kg back pack and you start taking stuff, once you get to 20kg thats it no more can be taken on. that thing of 10 extra kilos around doesn't make sense, where is the guy going to magically find 10 kilos worth of room?

also too it would stop people exploiting the dragging of bodies around as bags and then taking 100kgs worth on stuff on their person before they sell it

P.S. when they buy a backpack make sure its displayed on the character, the stalker suit doesn't have a backpack in game

as most of the stuff that you take is guns maybe you put cary staps on them and cary them over your shouder.
in RL it is not space that is that stops you form carying more stuff but how much it weight and how you cary it.
better bags let you cary it easyre but some parts of the bag are harder to get to i.e. you put the ammo at the top not your clean socks.
may be the biger packs coued make going down tunles and thoug doors harder like in RL and make creeping harder but if we have a drop pack butten we can drop are pack for combat that makes you just get belt stuff E.G. some ammo, one or two gun's just the basic kit not runing in to combat carying 10k of medkits but by space say 6?

yeah that would be cool, being able to drop the bag for when you need to either run from a pack of blood suckers or go into combat

how many stashes are there were the guys says he had to drop his backpack in order to escape!

I figured the pack could carry 60 kilos, but 50 is what can be carried comfortably, so he's not actually filling up the pack until he's overweighted, and therefore isn't conjuring extra space.
I like the idea, I use similar tactics with the various stashes, where I'll drop stuff off that I can't carry right now, but don't just want to drop on the floor, but it'd be nice to have an emergency option.
However, what I'm not really fond of is the idea of having to buy space. Early in the game it's hard enough to have sufficient essentials as it is.

wolf can just give you an old army pack that can do you till the bar.
the drop button shoud take 5sec to drop your pack
maybe the pack and belt can be diffent colors so you dont slip up and drop your ammo as you run for cover.

Could we not merge this idea with with two other threads?

Just a thought - Magazine reloading / Kit location / Grenade throwing by myself
alternative Exo suit idea by JunglePredator

If several people have similiar ideas, liked by most people on here then we cant all be far off the mark. Can we?
