* dual hands guns, like a pair of micro uzi
---END QUOTATION---

Damnit, I hate people like you who have no IDEA what the hell they're saying. STALKER is realistic. In real life, you can NOT dual wield SMGs and fire them with any sort of efficiency. Dual wielding pistols is goddamn hard and inefficient. Ever tried it?

My father's owned two 9mm Barettas for almost 20 years. It's almost impossible to fire them without ripping the crap out of your elbows. Think of a an Uzi. Better yet, think about how the third round would ram your elbow up and completely throw off your aim.

As much as I'd like to see future Stalker titles become a Gran Turismo for guns, I would prefer plausibility over large numbers of different weapons.

Thinking what weapons would be chosen by stalkers and the arms dealers supplying them, MAC-10s, Uzis, M16s seem too exotic, to be honest.

Then again, if more factions are introduced, it could make sense for more exotic weapons to appear. UN troops (just to name an example, also they were present in Roadside Picnic, if I remember correctly) would probably use whatever gear the contributing countries actually use. So I don't know :/

the number of guns we whant is on the idea that all the money we make saleing stuff can be use to get more guns becouse stalkers have a lot of money and contacts and can buy the guns thay whant may be the guns that where whanted or easy to get E.G. few stalkers chose to use a Mosin-Nagant but as it is cheap, has good rage and power new stalkers use them.
guns like M16s can get in but in small numbers and rare used becouse maintenance is much harder than an ak and it cost 5x as much but some are used by the odd stalker.

Well, about the heavier guns. They could perhaps work with an exoskeleton. After all, those things are just as much machine as they are armor, and if i remember right, the exoskeletons in STALKER significantly raises your strength aswell as stability. This would mean that some guns that aren't exactly suited for carrying around and firing on foot in real life, might be plausible with one of those suits.

Umm... if you haven't noticed... grenade launchers themselves are pretty darn exotic.

What could be added is not new guns, new calibers I say. The truth is that whatever damage or accuracy deviations between different weapon platforms are caused by general quality of workmanship, barrel length and rifling twist.

Instead, really, add calibers.

10mm Auto, 357Sig, 38 Super, 357 Magnum, 50 Beowulf, 454 Casull and so on. Some can be done with a retexture and new text entry in the game data files. For example, M1911A1 platform takes anything between 9mm and 45ACP. Obviously some of these new calibers need new weapon models, animations for revolvers and code or script to support them.

Anyone up to the task?

Edit: About dualwielding, please DO NOT it. While possible in real life, it is extremely dangerous to the ones at the business end of the barrels AND shooter AND bystanders.

Personally I have done it once in controlled environment but never will not do it again. It's a blast but far too dangerous practice. Tripped? You got two guns possibly going off and two uncontrolled bullets flying.

Edit2: Same for miniguns, don't do it. I can't remember how much torque they make but one person can't control it without some sort of mount. During filming of Predator, the actor wore bulletproof vest to protect him from violently ejected shells. Also the ammunition obviously was just theatrical blanks with minimal recoil. BUT he could barely control the monster gun. Then comes the weight issue at 40kg or more for around thousand rounds. That's between ten and twenty seconds of sustained fire depending on RPM and you're out.

MAC-10s, Uzis and M16s are by no means what I would consider "exotic" and are used by everyone from SWAT team members to Hamas gunmen. M16s and Uzis, are in fact far more prolific than some of the guns featured in STALKER (G36, F2000, Sig, etc)

Remember where the Zone and Ukraine are located, both geographically and politically. You have a point by saying that some of the guns in STALKER seem out of place already, actually. Unless, Western countries are backing Freedom (which seems to be the case) and supply with the funds AND weaponry.
