ZRP Modifier doesn't make all the changes

Hello! I've been struggling to solve this issue with the Zone Reclamation Project.

The modifier.exe doesn't save all my changes, even though i've tried
---QUOTATION---
One possible workaround is to rename the gamedata directory before you
make any changes, then copy the renamed directory to the STALKER
installation directory and rename the copy as "gamedata".
---END QUOTATION---

, and I am the sole user of this PC. Even though it says the files have been copied to the right place, I don't see the changes taking place in game.

Maybe I am missing something? The modifier doesn't save changes for:

Binocular Position/Sound
Cursor
Diary
Flashlight
Fire Illumination
Night Music
Radiation Whiteout
Sell Guns/Ammo to the NPCs
Task Map
Trade and Search Screens
Unique Weapons Stuff
Weapon Names English

Thanks.

I think you have to press "Apply" after every chosen feature.

Select the setting you want and press Apply.

The modifier can't tell which option is installed in the case of FileChoice cfg entries (the types you listed, where you can select one of many settings).

It also can't revert those types of choices, which is why NatVac has made it so that backups are left behind to restore manually, and why those types of config entries always have an option to restore to defaults.

Welcome to the forum, newstalk.

As MrSeyker notes, all the entries you listed are "File Choice" entries. Choosing and applying an option will result in a file being copied from an optional subdirectory. The files might be copied, but you do not own the rights to your STALKER installation directory -- probably in "Program Files (x86)" -- even if you are running with admin rights, so the Windows volume shadow copy feature keeps the game from seeing the changed files.

You can visit the Troubleshooting FAQ page at the ZRP website for a link to a good explanation of this "Virtual Store" problem:

http://www.metacognix.com/stlkrsoc/TroubleshootingFAQ.html#ModInstall

The fastest way to fix your problem without doing any more research is to uninstall the game (after backing up your saves if you have a vanilla game already in progress that you wish to continue) and reinstall outside "Program Files", into a directory where you will have full access rights. Then reinstall the ZRP mod and use the Modifier as before. This time it will work.

Another approach is to take control of the STALKER game directory, or at least the STALKER gamedata directory. My advice here is the same as in the help file for the Modifier, which has instructions on changing the directory access permission. (If you are not seeing these instructions, you might not be running ZRP 1.07.)

>> I am the sole user of this PC.

You don't "own" the software, though, even if you are running with admin rights. The usual "owner" of the software is the "Trusted Installer" you used to install it.

I strongly suggest reading through the Guns section of the "What You Know That Ain't So" page on the ZRP website for an explanation of and some solutions to the "even at Master I still need to pump bullets even in the head" problem you mentioned on another forum.

RK Roadkill, MrSeyker, yes, selecting "Apply" is what the Modifier help file says. Almost no one reads it, so this good advice would normally apply, but there is a file copy problem here -- the Modifier is saying the files have been copied so Apply is being used. Thanks for trying to help.
