You can use F3 and moving your mouse to find out where about the edge is. Remember to Quick Save often.

Yup, I spent like a hour to and fro, with some 50 quicksaves. Not to mention the hour I spent jumping into the crater from all possible spots around it presuming there had to be an invisible bubble anomaly somewhere that would teleport me directly into the crapper on top of that pillar. And of course it didn't occur to me to check the PDA beforehand, I mean who the hell has time for that while playing a Stalker game

I didn't like it either. If it was real life then it would be easy peasy to palpate the road, but there don't seem to be any way to do that in game. Bolts flies right through. I reached the stash after so many saves and fails, but didn't have any desire left to do the same in order to get back, so I just decreased gravity in console to gtfo from there.

Neat idea although.

I've heard that weather can be useful - wait for rain. Apparently rain hits the invisible path where bolts fall right through.

I don't think there is this tunnel in LA's x16 or maybe I didnt find it after turning off the emitters.

EDIT : OMG I didnt went the good way ... sorry RK for the trouble
