Ammunition and weapon changes.

I've been playing around alot with the game files lately and I've run into a couple of things that I wish were differently treated, so I figured I'd put them down for whoever might want to read.

My first thought was that it'd be neat if the damage properties "hit_type" was to be a property of the ammunition rather than of the weapons. This way you would be able to create incendiary (burn), explosive or chemical rounds .. or practicly rounds dealing any type of damage avaliable in the game.
But to stick to somewhat realistic things, incendiary and explosive rounds have existed for a long time although they are illegal in warfare nowadays and not very cost effective.
However in the backdrop of the zone and its hardened monsters its not such a hard time to believe illegal ammunition might have found its way in. Or might not even be illegal by the time the game is set. Although these rounds would probably be rather limited in the vanilla game in order not to unbalance the difficulty levels too much.

Further on, I think, hit_power and hit_impulse would be more suitably placed in ammo statistics aswell rather than in that of weapons. This would perhaps not provide as much of a game play change but it would open up the game for better customization.
The wish to make weapons be more effective than others although they use the same rounds could be accomplished by introducing a damage multiplier in the weapon statistics. For example allowing the Ak74 deal 1.2x the damage of a normal 5.45x39 round while the abakan perhaps would go with a 1.3 or 1.5 modifier.
Again this would probably not have any greater impact on the game as such, but it would make it all the more modifiable.

My last thought touches on armour properties. I would like to see a possibility to alter a movement speed effect of different armours. Instead of only having armours make you wear out faster, they would also slow you down. It'd be more realistic that you wont run as fast with a huge bulletproof jacket with all sorts of protective gear on as you would in a simple leather coat. Further on this would allow a suit, which I wanted to make as I thought of this, to enhance the wearer's speed and movability. A high quality exoskeleton designed to provide strength to your legs and simply allow you to run faster rather than to help with lifting strength.
Again this addition wont either add all together much of an impact on the game but to adjust its customization.

I am also aware that implimenting these changes would involve alot more change in the game than I'd imagine and I don't really expect it to appear in the next patch. But perhaps its something someone could take into concideration or evolve into something else.
Thank you for reading.

Sounds to me like you should play Crysis when it comes out.
Pretty much everything you are talking about is in that game.

That may be, there are alot of games that provide all sorts of things that stalker does not. My intentions are to suggest improvements on stalker, not comparing it to other games.

Oh no, I totally understand you. I was just mentioning that as well.
Did not mean for it to seem like I was shooting down your idea.
If you want my opinion I am with you on everything but the "exo-suit" that provides speed.
