We Want More Jobs!

Question Is unemployment too high in the Zone?
Answers
Yes, the lack of jobs really hinders the game's appeal.

We Want More Jobs!

Greeting everybody. Something which has been bothering me for a while in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is the lack of variety when it comes to quests/missions/jobs. Personally, I'm starting to get sick and tired of killing the same pack of mutants or defending the same stalker camp over and over again as cheap compensation for more varied quests. This thread shall be a manifestation of my frustration.

In this thread, you will make mission suggestions for whatever part of the game you please. I will start off with an example which I read the idea for in another thread:

Steal the stash of booze

* Mission giver: The barkeep
* Mission objective: To steal the crate full of vodka at the bandits' hideout in the Dark Valley.
* Mission description (what the barkeep says to you before giving you the mission): Okay Marked One, listen up. I've got a task for you. A tourist expedition is coming to Rostok tomorrow and they will be staying at the 100 Rads Bar later in the evening. One of my informants has acquired information of a vodka stash in the bandits' hideout in the Dark Valley, and I happen to be interested in this stash. You bring me the stash, and I'll make it worth your while. Do we have a deal?

I would be interested in hearing your suggestions.

I agree. There should be a greater variety of jobs in the game. I don't know why, but Wolf really wants those boars dead. And dead again... And again... And again... And the guy in the bar sure panics over bloodsuckers a lot. And wants them killed. And wants them killed again... And again...

It shouldn't be too hard to mod in a greater variety of tasks, though...

I don't know about ease of that with out a SDK (damn it, I want a SDK) but yea, I'd like to see more jobs than that generic 'fetch X artifact and I'll pay you alot' or 'kill these in this area' missions, after doing the exact same one twice it's kinda boaring...

There is a mod called "stalker quest mod" that allows more jobs to be given in the game: fe find gordon freemans gun etc.
It could be a good option while waiting for it to be implemented in the game...
