Smarter A.I. (pretty please)

There so desperately needs to be smarter A.I.

Or at least all rules apply the same. For example:

Twice now, I have gone into the Bar area, only to come face to face with someone I angered at some point. Some Loner Stalker, and if I shoot at him, Duty wipes me out, if he shoots at me, they run around like damned retards. He shot at me first, Duty rules should apply and he should die by a Duty member.

Also, I don't know what happened this last time, but I came back from the Warehouses, and Duty was Neutral, and every single loner was an enemy. I only noticed at first that like 7 loners were hostile, then I get to the bar, and find that the dude that says, "Come in, Don't stand there" is a loner and hostile. Then the guard, and all the loners in the bar are also hostile and can actually SHOOT me. I can't even pull out binoculars. Isn't it supposed to be a safe area?

And not to be outdone! How on earth does anyone know if I kill a guy in the bar area when no one is there to see? I lure this guy who shot at me out to a secluded area where no one can hear him scream, shot him with a silenced weapon, and the whole of Duty knows.... How?

The A.I. for the creatures is amazing though, it's just the humans that have the IQ of a slice of toast.

I agree with you on this one. The whole faction knowing something like you just said is stupid and many people have mentioned it before.
I am almost 100% sure that the dev;s know about this and hopefully they are fixing it.

There used to be a time during development when the AI was very smart. They could work together as a team and employ different tactics. They'd suppress you, use grenades and flank you. But sadly they were forced to lower the intelligence because Dean Sharpe thought it would be too hard.

I too would like to know if that's true, because if it is, then there could possibly be a patch...

I know that the AI in F.E.A.R does a lot of that. AND they notice your flashlight among other things, but are still realistic enough to not notice you hiding behind a boulder directly opposite of them from 150 feet.

It is true, I just can't be assed either right now to drag up the link.

Basically, the team had to cut back on the AI, since the way it was at the time only the best of people would last in a large firefight.

so what? is it realistic that a single guy can take out like 12 bandits and survive all this? ....the AI should nail you down, blow your head off and play football with it ...

I would also love to see the AI back up to the original level.

Huh??? I don't think any developers would dumb down the AI in their games before release. AI is one of the hardest things to do and excuses like "the AI was much better during development but game would be too hard, so we dumbed it down" are not true.

I just think that this was the best they could do with the AI in the time they had to develope the game. If they had devoted more work to the AI then it would be better than it is now...simple as that. We can only hope for improvments in future patches.
