ever had one of those situations where you turn round the corner to find yourself face to face with an enemy with only 1 round in your abakan and you just wished you could smash his skull open with the rear end of your weapon?

maybe its just me but after playing halo and COD2, it feels like second nature and quite irks me that your character has to pull out a knife to engage in hand to hand instead of swinging his gun....

Heh, weapon meele wasn't what I was thinking of when I came into this thread. Anyways it would be nice but it's never going to happen. They're having trouble fixing just the bugs that are in the system I hardly think they are going to spend the extra time to put in 20 animations for all the guns for something that won't acually be used very much at all. Nice idea, but no.

Actually, the animations may be in the game already, as NPCs can attack with their guns. (Just keep pressing "F" with your gun out...)

Quite so; my point is just that they went to half of the effort just to add in what is basically an easter egg. If they took the time to add in weapon attacks for 3rd person, I'm surprised they didn't for 1st.

I think such "buttsmack"-ing would fit quite well into STALKER; it'd add to the sense of desperation and peoples' revision to animalistic tendencies. (Not that it is exactly civilized to shoot someone, but you understand what I mean.)

It would've been cool if they let you attach your knife to your rifle and use it as a bayonet.

LOL! I'd love to see a Snork jump at you and get impaled on your bayonet!!
