Only wanted to comment on the load time complaint ...

Do you happen to know how much data has to be loaded off your hard drive ? Or or how many objects in the world have to be created & the amount of processing power it takes ?

On my computer the memory usage jumps about 200MBs up about 1200Mbs after I load a level, and it looks like just under 400Mbs of texture data on top of that.... So about 1400 MBs has to be either loaded from the hard drive or is allocated by the game for actually running.

Lets say it only has to load 1000MBs.
On an extremely fast computer that would take about 10-15 seconds.
On an most computers it would take around 20 seconds.

That is just to load the game data & textures into memory, thow in processing the information, system overhead, and the time it takes sky rockets.

NO game engine can load the amount of data required for the kind of world detail of modern games that fast. Even if it were 100% efficient the computer itself limits the engine.

Bottom line is if you want faster load times get a faster computer, or wait 3 years then buy a new computer to play the game.

Now this is a sad commentary on modern society...

His complaints aren't really that unreasonable.

Most of his complaints are about having a better user interface. The one that seems confusing is his complaint about the surface area for clicking. Currently you have to put the cursor directly on the text or picture to perform any mouse functions on it. It would be much better to have the click-able text and pictures be contained in a box much like a button. This would help speed up your actions in the menu as you wouldn't have to be so precise with your mouse. Many of you were confused on this aspect and thought he was referring to the keyboard buttons you press to switch weapons or use medkits.

His argument on the AI is not far off. His goal isn't to make the game easier but to the AI behave more like a person. Specifically he mentions that the bandits behave like a SWAT team which is somewhat true. The AI employs the same tactics for humans whether or not they are part of a group that would use those tactics. The Army should fight like the Army (coordinated and team-oriented tactics), bandits should fight like bandits (less teamwork, more "mistakes", different fighting styles), loners should fight like loners (focused on self-preservation and thus more likely to retreat), et cetera.

The loading times argument is really just a matter of patience and design. Loading times should be reduced if possible.

Bullet effectiveness. His point is that the amount of damage you can deal with your weapon should be the same as the amount of damage they can do back. If I have to shoot twenty-rounds into their chest to kill them then it should take them the same amount of rounds to kill me if we are using the same weapon and armor. Making their shots more effective is a cheap way of increasing difficulty. Difficulty should come from the AI's aggressiveness, advancements in tactics, gear, and numbers; not from pseudo-godlike states. Although I do admit that it is not a huge problem in the game right now I have noticed it.

Probably the only way for now i agree but with modest programming experience i am thinking;
If you load a spesific "save" scene you will load that scene repeatedly
until you save another place while you are progressing in the game/level.
Would it not be possible somehow to not be flushing the basic startpoint
structure or save point and that way making it quicker to load?
If the devs would have done it if they could have, then who knows if what was not possible yesterday is possible today given that technologies improves as fast as they do.
However if noone asks for an improvement i imagine there are plenty other fixes, patches and games to be made for any devs to give it any priority.

Right now at masterlevel with low medkit, radiation, limited ammo
i am likely to use the whole evening on just getting through one spot.
That becomes alot of seconds and minutes as the hours go by.

Yeah i keep noticing the hostility in this forum.
So you are helping me out of pure charity or what?
Your first tip valid, your second claim is not what occurs in the game.

You mean you're catching on? Try listing something useful that isn't fixed by a game setting or existing mod. Yeah, I know, you can't be bothered reading other people's dull threads when you have something important to say.

I didn`t know that GSC had hired you as a Comissare Loco, secret policing this forum. Maybe you can point us all to a thread started by you, that have all the approved ingredients you require, since you believe you are the dictator of good posts..
