the aresinal in this game was pretty impressive but not as much as i hoped
there needs to be more guns

at least 40 different types

and not just have them gradually get stronger but have them all with unique qualities giving the player an even great power to select the firearm perfect for there tatics

More guns would be nice, but you do have to remember that STALKER has a very impressive array of weaponry for an FPS.

GUNS THAT SHOULD BE ADDED:
44. magnum revolver (38. and 50. for even greater variety)
mini and full size uzi
mini mp5 (viper 5)
moisin nagant bolt action rifle (should be in poor condition due to age, sniper favorite for bandits)
RPK heavy machine gun and nemies with set up MG nests
double pistols might work good
m16

m79 single shot grenade launcher

While it seems common on the forums here that almost every one wants some new guns I don't think the # added should reach more then 4 or 5 more. What is needed is guns that are unique or bring something that's in poor supply in the game. Like a tranquilizer gun is a reasonable firearm to use in this area for capture of mutations which are (presumably) wanted for research. What I don't think most people, except for shooter fan boys, want is for the game to be come a trigger happy, never run out of ammo cause you find 100 rounds every 30 seconds, shoot everything & carry 5 million guns that really all do the same thing just faster.
This is supposed to be a strategy based adventure shooter where planning takes some role in it & I really would not like to see that disturbed; I think most changes need to be inline with real world operations. Such as the tow mentioned... I could see the use of that in game however such anti-armour measures are usually only packed on vehicles (jeeps) from what I've seen & would think a L.A.W. would be more likely to be in the zone & still limited to only 1 per stalker.

And why do we need all these Americanized, standardized weapons? STALKER is unique because it's a Russian game in a Russian environment. Revolvers? Who uses revolvers anymore? And Uzis are the work of gangsters and street thugs, not Russian mercenaries and treasure-hunters.

I actually agree with an MP5K, but variants in video games often don't add much variety, and feel contrived. A Mosin Nagant would be hilariously entertaining, but it would feel so bloody outdated compared to the rest of the weapons that no one would use it. Remember, gameplay! Same goes for a PPSh-41.

Dual-wielding pistols? Besides throwing realism to the wind, the Ruskies aren't action-heroes.

And why do we need a TOW launcher when A) it's a Western invention and B) there's no armor in STALKER? Why do we need a chaff grenade?

Law would be used for helicopters & apparently there is an armour in the last stage of the game; haven't played through though.
Chaff grenade would be useless... there's not an ounce of radar in the game save the player's. Uzi is reasonable; I don't know about the "thug" link however they used to be popular with several military factions few years ago. That's a key thing... used to be popular guns means there's supplies of old discarded firearms people can get a hold of. And also remember it's actually an Israeli sub-machine gun so it wouldn't be unusual to see it in Euro countries.

I myself (as I've said in a couple of the 4 other gun threads) want a couple more sub-machine guns which is why I'm in favour of the uzi.
Beyond that not to much else I'd want; an m-21 sniper as there's just something I like about that rifle since reading about it on the forums here. However my playing the game won't hinge on that.

I want to see back in the game the M-134 Minigun from Alpha 1098.
I tried to add it, but it can't create it.
