It would take some programming, or do you think the AI can do that already?

I don't think the AI are that advanced and that would take alot of programming. Too much for just one thing. It would lso give u an weird feeling when playing, knowing that the AI is so smart. God imagine the games of the future. They won't even be games, they'll super realistic virtual environments. The AI will become too smart and we'll end up losing our world to the machines IE Terminator, Matrix. Oh no i'm scaring myself. Wait I wouldn't be alive in 50 years.

When games are that far , it will be the challenge to get machines to make mistakes, for reality

programming them to make mistakes is easy. You just employ a statistical likelihood of success.. like, if you want to make shoot and miss in a realistic way, you give them a shot deviation algorythm that either messes with their precision or their accuracy (precision being their ability to group tightly and accuracy being their ability to shoot on the bull's eye).

Other things like progamming the computer to be a jackass is another matter, although AI that's thought to be rather good does this by accident sometimes.

Well... Stalker is realistic, yes. But for every day that goes, it gets more un-realistic. Like, Weapon speed change. It's impossible (?) to change weapons under 1-2 seconds. And the removal of fuel! gah...
Anyways, I think that running slower or at least getting a slighty bigger stamina drain would be nice. BTW, when you want to store items inn "the zone" use your imagination.

Caves, and holes can be used as storing place for many items. If you see it this way. You have some very neat stuff that you can't bother bringing into the more dangerous parts of the zone, so you find a nice hole. After looking around, you find some debris and cover the whole thing (the hole) Voila, you have a safe inn "the zone"

Good ideas.. but remember, Stalkers are a master at detecting changes in the environment around them. They must be, to save themselves from the unseen and sometimes even invisible danger of the zone... And so, if you dug a hole and covered it up again, chances are it would be found if a stalker went by.

Well.. I wasen't saying that I would have dug the hole myself
I just said "FIND" a hole, then it would be nature that dug it
The only thing that would be different is the pile of debris from many areas, so your right about some things
