Well, that's a mauser bullet.. and the calibre is close, but not what he was talking about.. and not even close to what the aks-74u fires.

The ak-47 fires a 7.62x39mm round, which is also not even close... and I'm sure someone else can google search some obscure variant, but I don't know if they make the ak47 or akm so short.

The aks-74u fires 5.45x39mm cartrages, not .30 calibre... and nothing on earth fires a 7 x 56mm bullet (that I know of).

Yeah, I think that the thousands of razor sharp, millimeter cubes of broken wire that come flying out of grenades at supersonic speeds would probably have a longer range than jets of dust.

---END QUOTATION---

What’s the difference between the debris your describing and rocks of the same size other than there are way more rocks & they are already loose and in the surrounding blast zone...

I think he is refering to the AK-47. In CS thats what the bullet is. 7.56mm ammo i think.

the fragments would have just have made you blind for a few days or at the worst have broken your skull, you wouldn’t have died...

omfgwtf

If you get grenade shrapnel in you EYE you go blind FOR EVER.
---END QUOTATION---

True but actually I was referring to the blinded from fine debris blown to you, its like a small hit with a sandblaster if your in a desert climate, and if its in the soil its not as bad but still can be painful, it feels like someone is torturing you by rubbing your eye with sandpaper, my eyes where so bad when I could finally look at myself after like an hour or so the whites of my eyes where like a raw steak. And afar as the kill radius 50 feet is pretty close to 15 meters so yes that’s true but that’s not the kill radius that’s the casualty radius, but with no one around it would have just been a slow death if the fragments didn’t just hit you in the head. AND I READ YOU’RE POST WRONG I thought you said 40 meters not feet, my bad.

That dose make since as far as who had the grenades but I still stand by my belief they could have been left by anyone, but that’s not to say we didn’t. You sold that gun for a little less than a descent price, I only got ~$1000 for a AK-47 I found, I probably would have kept it and its kick ass drum magazine had I knows that there was more AK ammo there than sand, but I was in a lynx for a lot of the time so whatever.

Still, are the developers reading this forum or should I e-mail them?

Yeah, but I remember after reading a weapons manual that the kill-radius of the M-67 is 50 feet, is that true? The grenade was most likely dropped by the U.N. soldiers bcuz no one else uses M-67s in Russia. I was young and stupid at the time and didn't think about the grenade being a trap, stupid thing to do. I found a real AKSU in an alley with two empty clips, so instead of keeping it, I sold it for 15,000 rubles [divide 15000 by 30 to find amount in dollars].

P.S. The AKSU is exactly like the AK-74, except its size is reduced [to the size of an MP-5K and is more durable, it aslo uses the 7x56mm round even though its size is so small.

I believe Adam is refering to concussion blindness ... where the blast force can render you blind and deaf - temporarily.

That’s vary kind of you to say, I’m just happy to have made it home, the unlucky and the stupid didn’t. At 40m your well out of the kill radius, the fragments would have just have made you blind for a few days or at the worst have broken your skull, you wouldn’t have died... Depending on the age of the grenade the compound b would have been aged and would be weak too so that would have helped your survival too... I'm kind of curios how you know it was us leaving the grenade lying around and that precise timing seeing as how that grenade uses a pyrotechnic fuse... You where vary lucky that wasn’t a trap, a grenade lying around usually has the pin removed and is part of a trap...
