If the gameplay is anything like I've seen in that bloodsucker video, it'll take a clip's worth of brain shots to put a controller down!

I don't get you fools. You complain that you want realism out of what is essentially a zombie game, and then you worry about 'what if the controller is too difficult to kill?' I mean, in reality, you don't freaking look for a way to cross in the front of a downed high-tension powerline. Getting through the area around it would be HARD. You only mess with it if you're equipped for it. Most normal people AVOID death this way. In the same way, if you're not equipped to deal with a threat in this game, considering the vast and nonlinear nature of the zone, I think you should just AVOID the telepathic death machine. You don't get experience for killing it. If it's not sitting on an artifact you need, I don't see any reason to risk your neck to confront it.

True. This may be the first game when you have to realise your not invincible to survive. Sure, all the kids will go bohoo, but that is just fun isnt it? A litle like owning them on counter strike but not even having to do anything..

About the sniper rifle, in games everyone can use a sniper rifle. It is always too easy to use, and i hope they will fix that. Using snipers in multiplayer games is always cowardly and weak, anyone telling themselves they are better than others because they snipe need to think again, it is us playing with normal weapons that contribute to making it a fun match afterall.

When they say "Can control you" its more likely to be "Can control your human allies and enemies but makes your vision go wobbly/projects illusions ect."

i agre with fuxor, i think the controller is not a easy job.... its better to let it be... but also think that kill a controller with a snipe is damn easy, the true hard job is to aproach him and kill him.... for that reason i will try to hunt controllers.... i.e: remember in saving private ryan when they discover a radar building with nazis and instead of go around they attack... well if i detect a controller zone i will prepare myself to hunt him... that will do the game more interesting that avoiding the hard zones dont ya think? only will avoid it if im in a middle of a mission or something.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the controller can see whatever the zombies can see, and that the controller can sense if you're in the area.... being supremely psychic and all.

I hope that not the case thats really making the controllers powerful. I mean that means you even have to avoid zombies. I don't think you can go that far with stealth. Unles you decide to grab your SVD or SVU and TRY to sniper from half a km to 800m, you still won't be able get EVERY zombie. You won't. If the controller can see what zombies see not only is that too hard to play with, but then they have to program that into AI and that will only take more time.
