I suppose that if you were so inclined, after you severed his aorta, you could slit his throat beneathe the larynx. Then you could watch him die at your leisure without fear of screams. I also heard somewhere that if you really give the corroded artery a really deep slashing that the blood will drain out of his head in seconds and he will pass out. This sounds like bs to me, though. I'm thinking you'd have to give him the full-on ear-to-ear jagged smile for anything like that to happen. I think both major blood vessels would have to be severed and draining into the open air for anything remotely like that to happen.

No shit . I know that from Thief III's stealth kill the most probable thing to happen is that the victim will have extreme pain in his back and will probably cough his guts out. Best stealth kill IMO, which, I know is hard to perform, is a neck break with one arm on the victim's hand. That way, you get no blood, no scream, instant kill and that cool cracking noise . But with a knife, I do wonder, if you'll slit someone's throat at his *describes that thing that moves when you swallow*, could he even talk anymore? Obviously it would be the best for any kind of game, but in my hope for the stealth kill I didn't necesarilly mean that Thief III's stealth kill is the EXACT way a stealth kill should be performed, but rather that the combination between the enemy's animation and first person view was seamless, and that all games who have stealth in first person should do the same thing (with different weapon, killing animation and enemy physics according to game).

Yes, Donnie, we try our best .

Unless your a man with biceps of mythic proportions, breaking someones neck is out of the question. The human body is remarkably resistant to blunt force and sharp movement. The best way to "keep it quite" as well as inflict incapacitating pain is, (if im assuuming im commign from behind) Nondominant hand grabs chin and forces upwards. Dominant hand (knife in a dagger like grip)knife over the adams apple, straight in, small twist, leave it in for a second, pull out. let me tell you, that is one hell of an ouchy.

Yea any kinda of cord will work but i was just thinking of the garot wire in Hitman 2 and Contracts...(love that little thing). The neck is extremely hard to break because of all the muscle in it and even if you snuck up behind someone and you really meant to break there neck it is indeed a very hard thing to do (much harder than sam fisher makes it out to be in splinter cell) i dono about "biceps of mythic proportions" but im pretty sure it can be done.

I think a garrot would be okay if you had a little while on your hands to strangle someone to death. It might stop him from crying out, if you're lucky, but it wouldn't stop him from flailing around and fighting with all of his strength. I don't think that this offers enough control of the situation. Really, I don't think there's any movie way to kill someone in absolute silence, and certainly no silent way to kill someone that's going to be clean enough for you to wear their clothes afterwards (a la hitman and many-a-spy movies).

edit: the only avenue I can really think of is administering a paralytic- some kind of acetylcholine antagonist... but how you would administer it would be a problem. paralyzing an adult human requires no small amount of toxin..

Actually, here's a way to do it.. you sneak up behind them with a 9 lbs sledge hammer and you double-axe-handle swing it over your head and strike the top of his skull like you're trying to chord a tree trunk. That would do it.

I really don't think it takes that much of bicepial (hehe) strength to do it. To the best of my knowledge, most of the Israeli Sayeret MATCAL spec ops warriors know of good ways to kill silently, one of them being a neck break. Of course, it takes a while to train in the art of neck breaking, but I think that mildly strong biceps and a little training could make you a viable neck-breaker.
A nice kill, a messy one that would require a VERY steady hand - an arrow to the throat. It's really messy considering that it's aimed at the throat, but if you're good enough with a xbow and can hit someone in the neck, I'm pretty sure he'll be down in max 2 seconds and without a sound.
I haven't played Hitman: Contracts, but in Hitman 2: Silent Assassin the garrot was WAY too quite. The victim would still make quite a ruckus (gargles most), and would actually have a pretty good chance of avoiding it.
I have always wondered, though, does shooting someone in the head instantly makes him unable to scream as he takes the bullet to his brain?

Ha talking about a gator wire and a few ways to sleathly kill makes you look like a hitman....damn if it was only that easy. A bullet to the brain kills quicker than they make it out to be in the movies.
