Performance with SSD

Sorry fellow stalkers for posting a new thread but question is considering mods as general.

Considering I bought new PC, I am really looking into SSD, and I am not really sure how and will it help with actual performance in frames per second.
From internet sources I know that SSD doesn't really impact that much fps only loading times.
But considering we are dealing with mods, which are good or bad optimized, will the SSD actually bring real performance?

So does anyone have any experience with stalker mods like OGSE or OP2 with SSD and does it have impact on fps.
Since I am running OGSE currently on mid high with r9 270x GPU, I am wondering will the SSD bring fps performance and is it worth.

Not really. As you yourself said, the gains will be in initial load times. FPS is a function of GPU/CPU. Your GPU should be enough for decent FPS in most mods. Run a utility like MSI Afterburner while playing the game and you'll see your CPU/GPU are doing.

An SSD will not help with FPS. But it will certainly improve loading times. For overall usage, once I tried my first ssd I will never go back to hdd other than mass storage.

Reducing stutter on asset loading when objects come online is not insignificant

Been using a 500gb SSD for a year or so now. Not really noticed much of an improvement in loading times. NS Joint Pack 1 level-changes are still annoyingly slow. Still lots of freezes in-game, too, though they seem a bit shorter.

The Faster Loading mod may help with that: https://gist.github.com/v1ld/786a2b61296273dac2fe5aeba858b1a7

That seems to be for JP2. I doubt it would work with JP1 as that uses 1.0004

The main file, _g.script, hasn't changed much since the NS days. Here's a merge of it against the version in Joint Pak PLO K MA: https://mega.nz/#!S04U0AQZ!pJG31SuGYsH1cwyZxs23p7WF3RpAcVHDiuxszHrIKaE

The README tells you how to rollback if you want to. Basically, just two files affected (_g.script and trade_manager.script).

This should make a very noticeable difference to loading times for Joint Pak 1 which didn't have the packed db files that speed up OP-2 load times. It makes a very large difference for NS DMX.
