---QUOTATION--- Good question!
I would like to know is AI in this game at least close to SoC AI? ---END QUOTATION---
Personally I'd like to see it close to Oblivion Lost 2.2 standards.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M, 8GB

You cant really compare that, it depends on the level geometry, amount of graph points, dimension of ai nodes, amount of vegetation and other objects which blinds the npc even more. LA vs SoC. LA has at least 5x more of everything, so AI also behaves different. You could compare the settings which for example OL mod changed in m_stalker.ltx, you could port it to LA, and notice it does not work, or it works even worse. Updating AI is on our list, but it has to be done based on LA, not on other mods which were built on different level geometries and ai content. I hope we can make it even better for the DC edition!

Thanks for the reply! With my years of modding STALKER, I know that AI perception can be a very fragile thing.
I just thought I'd share what I've learned from my extensive testing. The biggest problem right now (1.3003) isn't in general AI perception, but in their ability to react in certain situations.
Basically, it's player attacks that really concern me. Killing an NPC right in front of his friends doesn't seem to set anyone to hostile or alert status by default. My original theory was that it's because of LA's versatile and delicate storyline, but it applies even to groups that have no relevance at all to any story task.
I think something may be missing in the way NPCs perceive attacks on their friends by default. It may or may not be connected to the commented injury and death sounds never playing.
"Get out of here, stalker." - Duty on the only way into their territory.
