Ending (Possible spoiler)

So I finished X2, get teleported out.
Talked to Ghost.
After talking to Ghost I go to next objective marker "Follow signal"

I end up in the room with the large Domino blocks, But I think the audio is missing because I only do some fly-by around the room, and then get teleported to the swamps.

Is that normal?

Perhaps if there was some audio playing in the room with domino blocks I would understand why I am getting teleported to the swamps.
I tried reloading a couple of times, but still no audio is playing.

I have the 3rd patch installed, and no other additional mods

Is this some kind of new ending ? PCDania talked about something similar in my thread. Does anyone know how to get this ending?

Best I can tell it is an alternate ending. You must have gone to some efforts to find it. I certainly had to. I believe I did have audio but don't recall any details.

I just followed the storyline, doing all the stuff for Sin, and triggering more or less all cut-scenes in the different labs. I did a thorough search of all labs, and completed all missions, i did not take any side missions in my play-through. I searched Youtube for Lost Alpha endings, but none had the same ending as I did.

Yes I accessed the computer in the room.
I can't remember if it was on this computer, or another, that there was a note implicating that Doc has something to with some of the shady business, and genetic experiments done to Strelok. But without audio playing in the room it is hard to tell.
I went to see the Doc (since i already was in the Marshes) but the dialogue with him brought no further insight. As far as I remember it was the same dialogue he had last time I was in the swamps.

Sounds like you had the same experience as I did, 100RadsBar.
When arriving at the NPP, I helped the military because I arrived from Pripyat. If I had arrived at the NPP (Have no idea if that is possible at that point in the game) from Radar I would have helped Duty instead as they are waiting at that Transition Point. I've had as little to do with Duty as possible.

That's the Illuminati scene created by one of the Russian Dez0wave Devs
that everyone hates and has been complaining about. It was supposed
to be a generic setting with various symbols on the stones or blocks to
represent organizations controlling or influencing the events in the LA
Zone. The unwise choice of one of those symbols being identified as
belonging to the Illuminati is what makes everyone hate this being
in the Game. I came across it earlier in the Game in Testing so
I'm not sure how or why it got moved to the end as you see it.

It's probably just me but honestly, in the few final levels I was just playing on autopilot, not having the slightest idea why I was doing what I was doing. The story became fragmented and nebulose at a certain point, I still don't really understand it.
I mean with SoC it all made sense, no forehead scratching.

I found some information about doc in one of the computers, downloaded into my PDA, but the final computer did not seem to have anything relevant only about how some high ranking officer was pissed about somebody replacing vodka with water , downloaded this into my PDA, turned the switch, but the game just ended normally after talking to Ghost.

That could explain why there was no sound.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to remove it in the next patch. It would of course require some work, but if the Mysterious stalker with the glowing eyes was used as the boss fight along with the glowing sphere in X2 instead, you could remove this Illuminati reference.

I think there was a cut-scene, when I got to the swamps to meet Doc, where the stalker with the glowing eyes was talking to the large black "Domino" stones. That of course would have to be altered also.

I did find some endings on Youtube, that showed Strelok standing next to a dog, and then lay down on the grass, then an end movie much like the original game played, and the player would get teleported to Cordon in Sid's cellar.
I guess that is the "normal" good ending. Or what ending did you get?

I got silent flyby around a room and got teleported to the swamps instead

Can't remember if they were on an X2 computer, but I nosed through all computers, and files I could find.

But this 2nd bad ending, still opens up to freeplay? it just puts you back in the swamps, instead if Sid's cellar?

I have not had time to poke around in freeplay much, I made a bee-line to my car in CNPP where all my loot was. Army went from neutral to hostile, but that was the only difference, Duty, Freedom, and Loners were still the same.

I also somewhere found a document indicating Doc was involved with the bad guys. Pretty sure I must have found it in X2. I have naturally checked all computers and tried to crack all codes as the game invites to doing so. Too bad doing so seems to trigger a bad ending.

Haven't found out the code for the safe in New Bar in Pripyat Outskirts. It has the same type of code mechanism as the security doors in the labs.

Freeplay is only given with the good ending

But isnt this "Follow the signal" supposed to be also the good ending ? Maybe even better than the regular good ending, because you have all the info from various lab´s computers and youre supposed to get additional info from the "Illuminati" blocks at Oso level.

I have version 1.3003

Any way to avoid this ending and get the freeplay ? Not to collect additional .txt files from computers i guess

It would be not fun to play the game through again and run into the same bug and not get the freeplay...

edit: BtW have to mention that other than this ending bug, i have not had any other bugs and only 2 crashes to desktop - in pripyat level when trying to give medkit to wounded soldier. Very stable game, no other stalker version was this bug-free ever
