LA devs reaaaallllly don't handle any sort of negative feedback well, do they.

This is just painful to read. I used to look up to you.

Well if someone has specific criticism they should open separate threads, each on its own topic. Making huge posts that don't contain any constructive criticism is a waste of time for everyone and of good will.

In open source communities there is a concept of "toxic" persons, such persons do exist in real life and a very few number of them can destroy whole communities, can make the developers lose interest and stop working on their project. Not saying that anyone in here is like that but unless you offer specifics and constructive criticism then you're acting like someone described above. So let's make this thread productive.

Most of us taking part in this conversation have been around here for years. If any of us were of the 'toxic persons' persuasion you mentioned the damage you associate with such would already have been done. As it wasn't, it would seem we don't harbour such folk - or, at least, not for long.

Guys please let this thread die already...... The hate title is from earlier version when the game was buggy, its MUCH MUCH better now on 1.3002
---END QUOTATION---

The concept is just fine. There are already plenty of places to praise LA (just post anything slightly negative on moddb for example, and watch the sycophants swoop in to virtually vivisect you!), to report bugs, and to post "help me" posts, why not something for general negative opinions on various things regarding LA?

If we can get away from the shitposting and personal attacks that keep popping up, it'd be a much better thread.

because this thread is sleeping! Never forget negative & contrusctive comments

About DC release:

"Some people already buried our project" Not people, you did it when you released it. Always the same story about the leak...

"The progress is in fact not faster than before" = We are in peace, people can wait 6 more years.

"many people simply did not understand they are playing a work in progress game" Maybe people hoped to see a good mod after all this years of development furthermore as you had access to all GSC resources.

"Slowly during the months it became more and more stable" you can thank all players for this world wide Beta test (please, don't forget to do a beta test before the release of DC - it's an advice)

"While we were working on the 4th patch - namely 1.3004 -, it became more and more clear we need to release the developers cut" So, DC is not more than a new patch with few new features or reworked features.
And if it's a dev cut content, you have it now and you can release it in few days?
Maybe it was just cut ideas, not more. Something like promises.

"because the content we were planning was simply bigger than a patch" ofc, you need to clean all errors in the release version.
So, a new gamedata with a new binaries are better.

"which we planned to wipe out to make the game more polished and organized" So, the release version isn't good?! It isn't clear and a perfect work?!

"What do we plan to add? More life to the Zone" You impressive me! Really. After all this feedback from the community, you understand it. Congratulation!

"less empty places on huge levels" exactly the same as previously

"... will be included in the Developers Cut" Okay, it's just the new patch with few new textures, shaders and weathers. And you call it a new mod!

"On top of that we are working on the 'gift' for our donators which we promised." Money, Promises, Money! Sometimes you need to toady your donators.

"We got hundreds if not thoudands of positive and constructive comments" And you insulted modders who said negative but constructive comments.

"If you would like to support us, just click below to visit our main site where you can donate via paypal. We appreciate your help!" Money, Money, Money! Again.

I've been watching these forums since years back in the golden age of priboi, ol mod, amk, smp. I'm not an active member, but I can see the catfights and it's pretty fun how people try to proove they know things better than the others. But hey! Show us what you can do! I read somewhere here that you are below 20. So wait 10 more years, get a wife, work for 8-10 hours a day, make a child or more (which is better for the population) but do not forget about your friends either, ah and meanwhile you care about everything try to sit to your computer at least 4hours a day and work on a game. You can do this, anyone can do it, right? I can't. Actually I would say: "fu*k, am I that stupid like dez0wave to spend so many years on creating a crap? no thx".

edit: forgot the xmas lights

Please, don't speak about me. I'm not below 20, far from it. So, i know what is work more than 50 hours by week, pay a rent, pay tax and others. My privacy have nothing to do here, so, you know what you can do with your comment.
When i stay several hours on a computer this is by choice, a compromise between IRL and hobby. As a lot of modders.

A new computer could be fine to increase my productivity but i'm not opening a paypal account to swindle people on the web, to make much promises that i can release.

You're right, Priboi, OL, AMK was the golden age of this community. Now, ppl are living for the hype and money as Dezowave do, as MDT do, as too much big teams are doing. They are not working for the pleasure, for them or for others. I show up it because i don't like this state of affairs.
Years after years, the modding become a business.

Finally, work on something big during years doesn't mean that the work is good at the end. All the problem is here.
Now they are making new promises, as in the past. The hype is back again.

Watch your language!

Lets just hope that the new version of LA is a step up. I don't expect them to shoot down some of their stupid hypocrisy about Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat, and actually balance the game and make it better... but we will see.

@youzuki

I really hate that condescending "Lololo get older mate" or "Lets see you do better!" type of comments.
I dont see many people better at what I DO. So to those comments I can only respond... in a negative way.

I'm happy as long as the devs hang around here and not abandoning the game.
