---QUOTATION---
Following is the link, if anyone would care to donate whatever they can to help, that would be amazing. At the very least, if you wouldn't mind sharing the link within your own social circles, via facebook, twitter, email or otherwise, and help spread the word, that itself would be greatly appreciated!!

---END QUOTATION---

Managed a rather tiny contribution. But! I also made a video bit (for wordspreading purposes): http://goo.gl/4FD14k
For the moment it's linked-acces only; if you say you're not comfortable with it, i'll remove it, if you confirm it's okay to show, i'll make it public and spam it around

Good to see that donations are coming in .
Only 2 weeks until next payday, then I can give a little more

I am glad though, that I live in Denmark, where health-care is payed via our tax money.
I mean I pay around 40% of my salary in taxes.
However when my son was diagnosed with leukemia, we did not have to pay anything for the medical care (medicine, hospital stays etc.).

I even could take 9 months leave of absence from my work (without pay, my salary was covered by the government/county).
Since my yearly income was low enough, 100% of my salary was covered.

Our travel expenses (150 km to the hospital where he got his treatment) were covered to some degree, either we could be transported by taxi, to and from the hospital (since he was in isolation, due to chemo therapy). Or if we drove in our own car, we would get around $80 USD reimbursed to cover for the expenses for gasoline each time we drove ourselves.

If we had lived in the USA, we probably would have to have sold our house, to cover the 2½ year treatment, and the follow-up test & checks.

Shameless thread bump.

I hope all is well?

I have to shamefully admit that I forgot to donate a little more before the fundraiser ended
Things were a bit hectic a week ago.

Sorry for the delay, man.

Life has become, again, hectic the last few months. Though I'm still clear of any relapse (my last scan about a month ago came back clear), I've entered into a financial situation that simply prevented any possibility of me moving for the time being.

Amidst trying to figure things out and plan, I had received a summons to court a couple months ago over an old forgotten about account - that I had not received any type of calls or bills from in the last 2 years. I had forgotten about it, and had figured it had slipped into the nether regions... but, even on my reduced income the last couple of years, and being in/out of medical treatment, following the court date I now have a set amount taken from my wages to pay back this account - court ordered. While still trying to juggle medical bills, and other necessary expenses (such as my tool accounts for work, etc.), I'm up shit creek until I can finish paying it off.

So, with that overhead, it prevents me from doing anything but trying to re-establish here in VA. The quick-fix would be to declare bankruptcy, but the same hit to my credit would make moving difficult in the long-term as well. Either way, been stuck between the proverbial rock and a hard place.

It basically feels - outside of my bouts with treatment - that I simply exist to work, to pay off the bills that have allowed me to exist. Fuck the USA and it's fucktesticular corporate medical system.

Glad to hear from you, Imperialreign. I've been paying/fighting some of those crazy medical bills too. They just pull large monetary numbers out of their arse. The whole system is indeed a scam.
Good Luck!

I'm sorry to hear things aren't going well {imperialreign} . The system here in the USA is pretty much fucked. It's too bad we can't be more like Europe.

I hope things go better for you.
