I've been reading up on those older STALKER builds, and it's fascinating stuff. And also disappointing considering how much was cut out of the final ShoC version.

What would be really interesting to see at some point is ShoC with the old levels added (esp. Dead City), and some of the old storyline and quests in a stable package, with updated graphics at the level of Autumn Aurora 2. Now, that would be something.
Well, I guess that's what OGSE 0693 aims to deliver...

People insist to restore old maps in their mods when Dead City (from 2571) is the only worthy map to restore.

Darkescape: worth only with properly working vehicles (and proper maps for them), we don't have them, so...
Generators: in its concept, is clearly part of Stancia2 now, so it's redundant.
Secret Lab: an old MonolithCC.
WarLab: maybe worth it if it serves as a more cohesive "teleports - ending" transition. Anyway, GSC threw it away before the big "no time" cut.
Swamps: nothing to see here, useless, scrapped it very early.

That's good info, thanks! Do you know of other well done mods that show of the Dead City map? I'll have to check out this mod though, just to get my curiosity fulfilled.

Many russian mods restore Dead City, problem is... these are in russian... Just wait for Lost Alpha, it will have all those maps but with a new more cohesive storyline, I guess.

Thanks Kyojinmaru for the link. this mod is good but i like to spend more time in dark space map. it is huge and can use it for some additional missions and add some story to the original script. please any one tell me when i receive the repair kit quest from the mechanic at cordon? is it after x 18 or agroporam underground?

please any one help me to solve this problem

"XR_3DA.exe caused BREAKPOINT in module "C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl\bin\xrCore.dll" at 0023:014CCC85, xrDebug::backend()+165 byte(s)"

i tried some solutions such as thumbs.db but there is no such file in the game data file. if i remove the game data folder i can run the game other wise this error appears. it appeared during i play the sniper quest in bar. i am using win 7 pro sp 1. please help me to solve this problem....

I've got a problem with playing the mod Old Storyline Restoration Mod. When I met the Doc at Streloks place in hte underground and I go to Dead City, the game break with a stack overflow. Here's the Error Log:

I just got the same problem. As soon as i get up the ladder and the explosion throws me down. Then as the new load begins it crashes to desktop.

Does nobody know (after over 2 years) why this happens?
 
Each word should be at least 3 characters long.
