peaceful ai?

can you imagine if facehuggers in alien only cuddled?

I think they mean, the monsters will be peaceful at times. Much like how most predatory animals are less prone to attack you when they're full. I remember Oleg saying something about that in one of the interviews.. But this doesn't mean creatures like the "Bloodsucker" will be docile at times, I think they'll always try to kill you.

I like the concept, it adds more depth into the game. I like the fact, I can camp in some bushes and watch the creatures roam about - esspecially the "devil dogs". I read on IGN that the non-handicapted Devil Dogs like to herd the blind ones into highly radioactive areas and watch them explode. That'll be quite a sight for sure.

Maybe mutant can be called "peaceful",if they don't attack you.for example, when the mutant eats meat and is too busy to attack.

And those who just can't stand peaceful mutants can always attack the beast to get it to fight you, unless it runs ofcourse.

they will be peaceful, when they are not hungry or there are not many of them, but do they know that you are peaceful

How about some kind of lure/decoy, where you can distract the creatures for a certain ammount of time, perhaps some sort of psi-emitter to distract the psychic mutants, it generates a strong field that they go and investigate, giving you time to sneak in while thier minds are occupied elsewhere? its not exactly peacefull mutant AI, but it adds to you chance of survival.

Or a benevolent type of creature that lives in the zone, doesnt try to kill you (unless you attack it) and can help you in certain ways. Would add an interesting element to the 'duty' stalkers, who want to eradicate all mutant life forms, perhaps they (The happy mutants, for lack of a better term) could give you a mission to guard/protect their leader while he tries to establish contact with the military. Would add an intersting twist, you might end up working for the muties (old fallout term) against everyone else. Maybe they are/were the remnants of a scientific community/laboratory that somehow survived the accident, and mutated to thier surroundings,t hey also are looking for artifacts and weapons to defend themselves against the growing dangerous mutants.

Why no peaceful mutant AI?

"The AI system has about 200 parameters, which are constantly evaluated for response, where they evaluate their chances of victory - where they panic, where they are sure of their victory and so on. For now we have simplified it intentionally to increase those parameters otherwise we have a chance for the player to wander around and just come across peaceful monsters not attacking him - it might not be so much fun for you to play."~Oleg Yavorsky

I understand why most creatures should be hostile simply to make the game enjoyable, but why not a few peaceful prey animals as well? Cowardly pack hunters could go after these animals, such as mutated deer, insects, cats, etc. That way the predators wouldnt constantly be clashing with one another and offer more eye candy and gameplay possibilities for stalkers, such as decoys, baiting, and walkarounds during a feast.

On an unrelated note, it is said there will be about 100 other stalkers in the game. If you murder them all, will more replace them or will it just be between you, and the mutations?

Discuss.

If you don't know what's radiance then I tell you: cats would probably not stay alive, and there are no dears in Chernobyl.

Hmmmm. Google is the friend of people who rather know than guess.

During recent visits to Chernobyl, we experienced numerous sightings of moose (Alces alces), roe deer (Capreol capreolus), Russian wild boar (Sus scrofa), foxes (Vulpes vulpes), river otter (Lutra canadensis), and rabbits (Lepus europaeus) within the 10-km exclusion zone.

I believe them because they use ultra fancy words. Although you may be right they don't say they saw any dears.

More more...

In these areas the forest looks as though it has been struck by lightning. Efforts are being made to bury radioactive trees, but the financial burden is too great. Only the animals remain. "There are large numbers of wild deer, elk and boar because it is a closed area," said Professor Alexander Stozharov, director of the Research Institute of Radiation Medicine. "Some are shot by the guards because they can transmit radiation to the clean zones."

Interesting link.
