If you are driving instead of traveling by feet, you'll maybe faster, yes, but I think it's more anventure-filled, if you are sneaking the whole way to your target and discover places which could be important for prospectively quests. With a car under your backside you'll be a greater target, you have to drive on roads (well, if you are smart enough) and also the cars don't look very kewl or something. ^^

Any car damage is acceptable, but the more realistic the better.

i really want bullet holes and stuff to stay on your car, if only for the sake of being able to say stuff like in the movies.

like if you're in a shootout and your car gets shot full of holes "ohh, no.. not my car" ;_;

and then you're driving around a hunk of swiss cheese lol
---END QUOTATION---

Yeah but each on e of those holes has to be kept track of. That can be a pain for some computers. But that can always be controlled by the client, well I assume it should be.

If I remember correctly it was stated somewhere maybe an interview that there will most likely not be visible damage to the vehicles in the forum of damaged panneling and windows but that the vehciles mechanics could be damaged and wear and therefore needing repair maintanence.

The problem with depicting busted up cars taking dynamic damage is that you have to buy the licensing from the car makers to depict that as it is related to their public image. Thats why you see most car games with dynamic damage having non reality cars that are similar to real cars but different enough to avoid licensing issues.

Sidenote: It was however mentioned in an interview that as they drove the vehciles around in ditry/muddy areas a different layers of grime and dirt began to build up on the outside of the vehicle.

They have to buy the rights to make realistic car damage for a Moskvich? or a Niva 4x4? or a KAMAZ truck? These are not brand names I beleive but just names of the types of cars. Im sure Kamaz Autos wont care lol.

MOre than that! I had read a very recent interview (two weeks old or more that the care require regular maintenance. Without it, the car might have a problem, flat batteries, and eventually wouldn't start at all!

Which means in the game they would probably be a mechanic.

In most games after awhile the holes disappear so they could do htat but still have hte damages, its possible

did u see the sick wheels on that suv (rims) (rims are old term) a car can only handle a certain size of tires in the wheels well so it was a small tires to begin with about 17 inch in real world and about 15 inch whell (rim) so it was like a rubberband around a metal whell. u should reall look at modded cars. some are really sick wiht ps2 in them, mine sucls right now. a 1990 Honda Prelude. Im workin on it though

GSC has already mentioned in a not so recent interview that there will be a mechanic on the edge of the Zone. This guy can also modify your guns according to GSC.
