Firing from vehicles?

Read title. I'd love to be able to get 3 other stalkers in multiplayer into a car or truck and shoot from the windows and such if needs be.

(Semi-nrelated topic, how should/is the game going to deal in coop with 6-8 players in a group? Be a little hard for a lone controller or 3 blind dogs to take on a half dozen guys with AKs, or even makarovs.)

i think its been said that passengers would be able to shoot while driving...

safety in numbers

or you can split up into groups and accomplish tasks faster. that would be nice as well

Personaly I hope they do it this way:

1) your not 'locked' into position, you can still move around though it will be limited. The greatest thing about this is you can still look and shoot. Straft shuffles you along the seat quickly, if your not like stuck between two swety men, while leaning allows you to lean to the sides still. Duck will lower you from the waist and jump would be well useless.

2) Glass and areas where there is nothing, such as a blown off door, do NOT hinder any bullets... this includes out or in. Glass offers limited, very, protection and would shatter before to long anyways. Shooting is just like shooting when your outside of the vehical, so you look out the window and fire.

3) Drivers are limited to what weapon they can fire with, as well as further limitations to movement (shifting from the front to the back for example would mean you couldn't drive) becouse they have to be in the front seat.

That is just basics there but it shows how firing and moving in a vehical doesn't need to be any different from being outside of the vehical. This would allow passangers the ability to fire through any gap they can see through and even ones they can't if they have weapons able to punch through metal... not smart to try and fire through the engine though.

Shooting from vehicles would be a good addition though a bit useless in practice. Shooting from stationary vehicle would be accurate but what if the car was moving. Different surfaces should affect smoothness of the ride (i.e. affect aiming from inside the moving car). Ride on new asphalt would be smooth, but ride on rocky offroad would not. I think the asphalt in zone would be very battered and worn out yielding in not so perfectly smooth ride. Off road in the zone would of course be much worse. Driving 50 km/h into a rocky offroad would make you unable to hit a house with any weapon from 50 meters and most likely break your car.

There won't have to be actual small wireframe bumps in the terrain. They could just make the rockyness and bumpyness depend on the surface texture. Stability could be checked on each tire if neccessary; Player could drive partly on asphalt and partly offroad.

Driver could obviously shoot only handguns from the car when driving with mouselook. Passengers could use different weapons too, but would there really be a room to swing long rifles inside small cars? Maybe they could use only submachineguns or assaultrifles with their stocks folded. Rifles without folding stock could be usable only when leaning out from window.

Ok, maybe you are just kidding here. But then again maybe you aren't.

If you would shoot from a moving vehicle you and your buddies wouldn't hit anything. Enemy would have massively better chance to hit you. If you would shoot from stationary vehicle you and your buddies would be sitting ducks. Enemy could maneuver to a better position where you and your chums had trouble or no chance to aim. Enemy also would have all of you in his sights. You now wouldn't have that luxury because you had choosen to "put all your apples in one basket". Cars dont have bulletproof armor in them. They aren't APC's. If this game is going to offer realism as developement team has promised there is not going to be much of a health bar. You would be disabled and soon killed with only few hits. Bottom line; You and your buddies would be toasted instantly.

It wouldn't be that hard to do, as long as you don't have the vehical driving as if it was on concreat (no bumps) then any firing from within the vehical will be naturaly inaccurate. Not becouse it's bumping around but becouse looking out the window the target seems to be moving up and down and so harder to aim at and hit, not to mention that you will have to snap shot at the right time to hit the target before you have moved past it.... so really you would miss a lot even if its done simple without having so many complicated things added onto it.

I agree. Inaccurate because of the bumps. Simple.

Huh? Errr... Did I mention I sometimes get really dizzy in carousel. Not because it's spinning around but because the world is whirling in my eyes

Enemy shooting at you while you were inside a moving car would also have to "lean" his aim to hit a moving target.

What are these complicated things?

i ment you shoot from a standing car but the bullet stuff is a problem but it would be cool if you can buy buttelproof plates to your car.
