Just don't expect the super detector to work correctly.

Well, if you switch detectors or take them out of the bell on certain conditions, the displays get bugged (missing map marks, missing text, some artifacts not correctly detected).

The Super Detector is the one that's more suceptible because it's trying to detect on-line and off-line elemets across the map.

The Indy and Pro only detect online artifacts, and behave properly when switching/removing from the belt.

Like I said, the new detector mod actually behaves right, but it's severely rewritten, and adds quite a bit of features that might not be of your intrest (I orginally wanted to remove that CoP-like feature, but eventually decided that if I can get that to work with dynamic anomalies and artifact spawning, then that might be perfect - but I've not touched the detectors in over a year).

I found this after lurking Russian forums for quite some time, but I lost the links.

A google search gave me this:

IIRC, this is the new version of the mod I mentioned in the original post.

Singapur22 rewrote the whole thing and now not only does it work as he intended, but he has made all artifacts invisible (and quite possibly un-pickable, can't recall) unless any detector is equiped, similar to how artifact hunting is done in CoP.

In that page I gave you, click in Скачать (use the browser's search function).

If you want to try your luck and search for other pages, search in Google for Детекторы артефактов v1.0.

I'll have to bump this thread...it seems there is some error on the page to the re-written mod. Not sure what to do to get a hold of the re-written mod...

I managed to download the new version. Rather awkward, though, signing up to a Russian site and following translated instructions.

I also thought that it might have allowed one to hold the detector out in front of them, rather than attach it to the belt...hmmm.
